Solskjær sack watch | 2019/20 edition

“It is a young team, but it can’t be an excuse because we are Man United. These boys will learn. We just have to string two or four games together because we haven’t had that consistency. As soon as we get that we’ll see them grow.”

Same stuff every week; however, he’s dreaming if he thinks we can string together 4 wins on the bounce. Just stop this madness now and push the eject button, our floundering is embarrassing.

Solskjær: "It is a young team, but it can't be an excuse because we're #mufc. These boys will learn. We just have to string two or four games together because we haven't had that consistency. As soon as we get that we'll see them grow." #mulive [bein]

That's exactly what I thought.

This is utter madness. United, the biggest club in the England and one of the biggest in Europe is a laughing stock. We have become a middle-table club at best; not because we do not have the players to be doing better, but because we have a manager who is patently out of his depth. I love Ole as much as the next United fan, but this has become painful to watch. The stats and facts simply do not lie and make for woeful reading. Can we just park the sentimentality for a second and face the cold hard facts:

  1. United under Ole have a 45% win ratio so far this season
  2. With more than a third of the season gone we have the same number of points are Burnley and Crystal Palace
  3. Ole has a lower points total after the first 14 games of a new season than Moyes, Van Gaal and Jose (all of who were eventually sacked)
  4. Over the past 35 premiership games (the total number of premier league games that Ole has been in charge) United have won a total of 58 points a percentage of 55.2%.... however...
  5. Ole won a total of 38 points from his first 18 games in charge a points percentage of 70.2%. By comparison Ole has won a total of 20 points from his last 17 in charge, which is a points percentage of 35.3%
Does anyone even begin to argue that with Leicester, Sheffield United and Wolves all spending less than us in the summer but all above us in the table, that this is anywhere near good enough?

This isn't a game of luck, where you just need to get a couple wins on the bounce and everything works out from there. He's really, really out of his depth.

The reason we don't have Pogba in our lineup?

Ole rushed him back to play against the mighty Rochdale.

The first time I’m starting to fear for his job. Where does the next 3 points come from if you can’t beat Villa at home?

Fine margins...if we had McTominay fit we probably would have picked up 6 points this week.

I wonder if any really sizeable club will ever go for Chris Wilder ?

Everything this guy touches seems to turn to gold. He’s been innovative in his first PL season with these forward thinking centre backs and his players work like mad for him. Not that it hasn’t anything really to do with it but he’s doing wonders with a squad of virtually all British players bar Mousset.

Be interesting to see what he could do with a big club war chest.

So what we need is a manager with magical powers? Why didn't I think of that?

I don't think Ole is 'the answer' long term, but how many more times do you need for us to declare a manager shit before you realise the issues go beyond them? We've got Andreas and Fred as our midfield two for christ sake. We've got a fullback with a handful of games being first choice, we expect a 22 year old to to be the experienced player we turn to, and when we need options from the bench we have to bring on Lingard, a barely fit defensive LB and an 18 year old to try and change the course of the game. The team is not good enough to be where some delusional fans think we should be at. Accept it.

This is status at our club. We need to accept the situation and stand behind our club.

Nothing would be worse than how it is now, i would back the gamble in bringing him in absolutely. I just cant see the board agreeing to it. Its either Poch or Ole in my opinion for that reason.

And that's has been apparent long before last season ended. He was appointed based on a number of victories that were, let's call it, lucky. Looking behind the points gathered showed a team being efficient but not effective. That is not sustainable. City this season are the opposite, they are effective, but not efficient.

Feck, now we are loosing because we dont have McTominay, I mean no disrespect to him but he is a good player at best.

The excuses become more and more ridiculous as games goes by. Wonder what will I read here next week.

We absolutely do not need to accept 6 wins in 23 games. We're Manchester Utd.

The problem is that we need the rebuild so bad. We just can’t compete with our current players. I don’t think it’s many available managers out there who could make this group of players compete.

I cannot agree that there isn't a manager out there who could achieve better results with this squad. I'm not asking to win the league. I'm not even asking for top 4. But to spend £130 million on defenders and look even worse at the back is ridiculous.

Every manager we have had since SAF has struggled. We need to take the long road now. If it’s Ole in the end, I don’t know.

It’s not a valid excuse as everyone knew that going into the season with McTominay as a starting midfielder with no real depth was going to leave us very short.

He’s actually done a lot better than I expected this season and has certainly been a level above Pereira.

That's the thing. It's so many "ifs". If Ole hadn't had made that defensive sub, if Pogba, Martial or Mctominay hadn't been injured, if we had spent more in the summer, if we hadn't made a stupid error leading to a goal for the opposition, if if if if.

It doesn't matter if we have a fully fit squad, we have shite players and a shite coach. It's going to take years to solve this mess, and it's all thanks to Woodward who has on his own destroyed this club.

Would you prefer Ole or Poch be in charge of the rebuild?

Or maybe both?

I’m absolutely sick of these posters telling others to accept this train-wreck. They can accept whatever they want, but bugger off telling others to do so. Imagine this place being in agreement that this form is what we should have expected going into this season , the forum would be taken down for lunacy.

Mctominay has started 12 times in the the league and we’ve only won 4 games, don’t think us getting six points is that simple.

Long road? How many clubs do that now? None?

Do you think Bayern, Barca or Madrid accept the long roads?

Stop thinking we going to get another Fergie who is going to be here 20 years.

Pretty sure I said it a few months ago but it's even more relevant/astonishing now but he still seems to be under virtually no pressure. There's no real murmurings of results having to improve or hes gone. West Ham are 2 points behind United and their manager seems much closer to being fired. Everton are 4 points behind and it seems inevitable that he will be fired today. Pochettino obviously went as well, the entire thing is crazy.

This is what I find extremely worrying. If anything it's public endorsement for Ole and defensiveness from Ed Woodward.

But it's also because our match going fans are more patient. They just won't turn on him I reckon. Whereas the panic at West Ham or Arsenal was there to be seen and any board are more reactive to those sorts of situations.

It did feel with Martial back that our form was starting to turn. And then we lose a midfielder. The squad is far too thin. Every injury gives us a big problem.

Why murmor? We can't just shout "We're United, We're United!" and expect we're exempt from the process of building a top team, a process every team has to go through. For decades we had the manager who kept us on top but sooner or later we had to go through that again. We didn't replace sir Alex well and it dragged on, but now is the time to let a manager have a comfortable working conditions and guaranteed 2 seasons from appointment in which he can do his job with no unrealistic expectations. Sorry to break it to you, but this is no sack watch, this is, relax and watch.

Defeats against Spurs and City will surely be the nail in the coffin for Ole.
Who do we have after City ? I think last season the board decided to get rid of Jose way before the Liverpool game but probably didn't wanna have Ole face the Dippers as his first game. For all we know, the decision to sack him is already made and it's just a matter of timing

AZ Alkamar and Everton, if the sack is coming I expect it to be one week from tomorrow.

Murmurings or not decision can be made in a day and maybe the club keeps everything within this time.

For how much longer must we endur this? Doesn't sound like the club can be arsed making a decision. We're not getting better... we're getting worse and there's NOTHING to suggest we will turn it around.

Very inspiring Ole.

Wow if that’s what he’s said what a load of nothing. Of course we’d like to win a few games in a row but YOU are part of the problem Ole.
I love him as a player but this is starting to taint my opinion of him. Realise you’re not good enough & resign for the good of the club
