Would imagine it'll be Ronaldo through the middle now.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Malacia
    Casemiro
    Eriksen - Bruno
    Sancho - Ronaldo - Rashford

Have to at a big event tomorrow. risking jinxing things by recording the game, so blame me if we lose. Mind you, some people did that in games one and two so hey ho...

Maybe we'll get to hear more from ten Hag about this when the press conference embargo is listed.

I don't see any point in Ronaldo playing. He wants to feck off so leave him do that and feck giving him game time.

Ermmm .... How is Martial injured from Liverpool and yet he's been in training pics with Casemiro with that goofy smile that he seems to have found recently?

The kind of thing one can only bear witness to in the worst of nightmares. :nervous:

Change 1-2-3-4 players but keep the mentality in the 11 we start and we will be just fine. 0-3 - Rashford x2 & Bruno.

Another struggle I expect as it's away from home. Maybe a draw. Ward Prowse to score a free kick

Liverpool for all their talent pretty much rely on scoring on the break. Which we did against them too and won.

Against teams like Southampton I'm expecting another tough loss.

They will press us high. Hopefully it's the same line up with Ronaldo for Elanga.

Once there's no Ronaldo then I'll be happy.

Be great to see Casemiro start but not sure where he is at fitness wise.

Ten Hag will probably reward the team starting against Liverpool with another runout. The only change I imagined, was Martial in for Elanga, which is ruled out now. Casemiro + Fred and Ronaldo in some time during the second half.

Yeah, there's no way Ronaldo doesn't start this. Unless of course he transfers but that is looking unlikely. Varane, Casemiro Ronaldo (not as a front 3 of course)
There are some other valid options. Like playing Ericksen false 9 and sticking Fred next to Casemiro. But either way it sucks to not have Martial after a game in which he showed what he adds to this team.

The primary problem with Ronaldo is he won't run defenders out of the box to make space for others. Ericksen will do that plus give you great passing in setup. Problem is if EtH opts for that approach will the midfield be able to handle the press, as that was what he wanted to do vs Brentford.

So this is a very interesting early game for EtH, given that the approach should be similar to Brentford but the difference is Casemiro. Can he support Fred enough to make his poor passing not a problem.

Martial out injured is a blow, therefore reckon ETH will recall Ronaldo to the starting lineup. I personally would like to see us stick with the same front 4 that started against Liverpool but reckon ETH will go with the following:

    DDG

    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Malacia

    Casemiro - Eriksen

    Sancho - B.Fernandes - Rashford

    Ronaldo

Heaton, AWB, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Hannibal, Elanga, Garnacho

Southampton 0-4 Manchester United (wishful but feck it )

I'd rather Garnacho start on the left and Rashford up top than have Ronaldo playing. feck him.

Don't see him starting Ronaldo, something clearly going on and I don't think he's ready to drop Maguire again so I think we will see:

    DDG
    Dalot Maguire Martinez Malacia
    Casemiro Eriksen
    Sancho Bruno Elanga
    Rashford

Although I think that's poor and we need to actually drop Elanga & Rashford and utilise Ronaldo and Garnacho as I think Southampton will play deep and they are both more creative for me and don't rely on pace, I would look to bring on Rashford & Elanga when legs are tiring and mistakes will be made and we can utilise their best assets (Speed)

    Do better.

Why would he drop Varane though? Maguire is out I reckon.

If varane is fit he's going to start.

Even though I’ve predicted a 2-1 win for us I’ve a horrible feeling we will be flat and lose 1-0. Feck.
Had to say it. Hope I’m as wrong as a Tory at a Union meeting!

In light of the Martial news, my line-up would be:
    DDG
    Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia
    Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred
    Sancho, Rashford, Bruno/Garnacho

Really? He hasn’t played any serious minutes so far so I highly doubt this would be the correct game to throw him in.

    a Union meeting!
Don’t be angry at losses that haven’t happened yet mate that’s when it’ll get really miserable
