Will somebody say more about the Djemba's performance last night. How was the tackling, passing, defending. Any shots?

He had 2 shots - both off target hit with power (maybe he really is the new Roy Keane). Tackling was OK but nothing special and some neat short passing - wasn't a bad performance but the whole Utd. side was so disjointed that no-body looked great out there tonight.

How's Ole playing, is he up front?

Ole wasn't in the game. He was up front at times, playing his normal all over the show position, but neither he, nor any of the team, showed any cohesion, and it was a thoroughly disjoined performance. Ole sparked a bit after Ruud came on, and I still think those two would/will give us goals - Ole just doesn't have the physical presence of Ruud, but together they look good.

Bellion was poor.

Djemba Djemba looked pretty good really - he certainly can't be blamed for the performance, playing as he was for the first time with the rest of the team.

Barthez looked as tho he had his mind elsewhere which he probably did.

Scholesy lacked bite.

JOS probably had the worst game I've ever seen him play.

Ferdinand needs to buck his ideas up - is he scared of going in for a header or what? You watch him - he shies out of challenges more often than not.

If we have an alliance with Sporting, I don't know why we didn't get Queresma - but this Ronaldo lad looks something else. I presume when MUTV ask you to vote for MOM you are supposed to vote for a United player, but he was defo MOM, and I hope we keep tabs on him.

I have my doubts about Pugh and Lynch - and Richardson could be another Chadwick imo. Fletcher is the best of them imo....and I still don't know why we sold Lee Roche.

I hope Fergie isn't putting his faith in the youth, because none of them have half the potential of the 95/96 lot.

Not too bothered by the performance really - five games in two weeks in hot temperatures, plus all that travelling, must have an effect. We know what they're capable of, but tbh, they could have done without that game coming between the USA games/travel and Cardiff.

We need another top quality defender I think - and another striker goes without saying. Plus, dare I say, a creative midfielder.

Echo most of that Liv. They looked tired. Best players for United DJ2 and Fortune. Bellion is youth team material only. Richardson had lots of heart but little success. There was zero creativity, and not much movement up front even when someone like Scholes got the ball.

People talk up Nicky Butt and the likes of P.Neville and DJ2 saying that we have a plethera of midfield men to mix and match. Well that is bollocks IMO. We have too many ball winners who can play a 10 yard pass and no more.

Lisbon looked good because we put them under zero pressure.

Things looked better when RVN and Fletcher appeared. Fletchers' ball in for RVNs run on goal late on was every bit as good as Verons against Juve. So that encouraged me some.

Bottom line on the newbies:

Howard - Definitely a star in the making.
DJ2 - Yes he can do a job right away. Has a lot of Keano's qualities.
Fletcher - He's ready for more 1st team appearances.
Richardson - not there yet but not too far off.
Pugh - showed some good signs but not good enough yet and I wonder whether he will be.
Lynch - Read Pugh
Bellion - a million miles away.

I hope Kleberson can create. If not get your hand in your pocket Kenyon.

Echoing exactly my sentiments & your appraisal of individual players are more or less what I've noted as well - Livvie20, we're eerily too similiar in thinking!
