Steven Gerrard - complete player?

You've only mentioned one.

So he doesn't pass like Zidane (not that anyone does). Everyone can see that. He does have other redeeming qualities that make up for it.

Hence, he's still one of the best (just behind Lampard ;)) midfielders in the Prem, and in Europe and only clueless Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime believe he's a "poor man's Roy Keane".
Where did I say he wasn't one of the best midfielders in the Prem?

While I did quote you, notice I wasn't referring to you as a clueless Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

His passing can be erratic, doesn't make him any less of a complete player.

Gerrard has more potential. I still think that at this point in time, Lampard is a better player.

Gerrard is absolutely fantastic, and there is very little that he can't do. On the other hand, I don't think there is anything in particular that he's absolutely brilliant at.

It obviously does as his passing cant be trusted.

Yes, precisely. Again, a recurrent theme, jack of all trades, master of none.

All this "Gerrard isn't a complete player because his passing isn't amazing" is pointless.

Might as well say Ronaldinho and Zidane are useless because neither can tackle.

Still an absolutely brilliant player.

Some players are great because they're very good at certain things. Others are great players because they have no glaring weaknesses.

I can't think of a more complete player than Gerrard. To say that he's a poor man's Roy Keane is nonsense, although I do think Gerrard could be a little better at everything he does.

Even assuming that retarded oversimplification was true, it still doesn't make him a bad player.

You'll find that many managers prefer a player who is very at everything as opposed to a player who is brilliant at one thing and is rubbish at all the rest.

I never said that he is a bad player. He is a good player but overhyped.

Gerrard is much better at this point in time. Most neutrals would agree.

Well then they are twats. Gerrard could only dream of passing the ball as well as Scholes.

Almost all the best English players are overhyped to some extent.

Rooney? Very overhyped.
Lampard has also been overhyped, especially early season, then they all turned on him when he had his dip in form.
Even Henry could be accused of being overhyped.

So Gerrard's in good company then.
