Laddie don't be so sure, that Suarez is a real slimy prick, and we've seen his "top class" acting all too well to fall for this!

But in this instance I hope he was crying, because it's fecking funny that racist biting stamping rat faced cnut is suffering.
Generally I don't like seeing another person suffer but this is actually funny. I hate that cnut and he deserves every bit of this pain he is getting.

I didn't see that huddle on the pitch but I still don't understand why do that? Was it for the cameras? If it was then it surely has come back to bite him in the arse. And I love it :D
I think it was an impromptu 'meeting'. I know where it came from...it was an emotional bubble rising up inside him. He probably felt that City was the last stumbling block and defeating them meant a straight run (albeit along a tightrope) to the title. Before the huddle, he was crying and when pulled into the group hug of love, his mouth took over and he said out loud what he was trying to tell himself.

Keano would never have done that. He would have calmly walked off the field and dealt with the overexuberance in the dressing room. It, to me, just shows that Gerrard is not a leader of men, but a talented footballer who was bigged up and believed his own hype. How many winning PL captains would have done that? Adams? Bruce? Robbo? Keane? Any of them? No. Stevie Me sees himself as a better man than he is, but I'm sure that he now knows.

I hope this breaks his mind.

Mate I'm exactly the same! I usually sympathise with those who suffer because I can't comprehend how much pain they'd be in mentally and emotionally, and so I never laugh. But there is a special place reserved in hell for Suarez. And to be brutally honest (please no one lambast me!) I do feel a bit for Gerrard, but the things he's done in the last few weeks, from team huddles, crying, losing it, kissing the camera, pushing the camera, slipping over... It's just too funny for me to control myself.

Honestly you couldn't write this stuff.

Shitty better not feck up, though.

Agree with this. Even with Gerrard my laughter gives way for sympathy at times.

But Suarez is a vile creature. I enjoy every ounce of suffering that rat has to go through.

Too correct.

What Stevie wanted was his moment in the limelight, when in fact a quick clap to the fans and walking off the pitch into the tunnel like it was another day in the office would have encompassed everything he tried to say.

I think Gerrard is a leader to be fair, it's harsh to say otherwise. What's more accurate in my opinion anyway is that the emotion of being close caused him to lose it. To bottle it. Which is just as funny!

Agree - Gerrard will receive a lot of sympathy and praise when he retires from a lot of fans.

Suarez should never receive even an ounce of sympathy. That cnut should suffer.

My gradparents were down yesterday and both of them came in to the lounge for the final part of the match and started talking about how nice it would be for Liverpool to win the league because of what a great man 'Stevie' is - my nan is even a Manc ffs.

That was nearly as annoying as her being disgusted everytime she saw a player spit.

This lack of bottle, leadership, football intelligence and selfishness are just some of the many reasons Ferguson was right when he said Gerrard wasn't a top, top player. A very good one no doubt, a brilliant servant to Liverpool but when it comes to midfielders he's simply not in the same bracket as the Keane's, Vieira's, Xavi's, Scholesy, Pirlo's etc etc.

Edit: sounds a bit harsh on Gerrard but thats the standards of the best midfield players. He is not a team player in the way the above names were.

That lack of intelligence is glaring to me.

He isn't, fans feel like it's either world class or bust when describing players. You can have a very good career and not be world class.

I would put Gerrard in the bracket below the very best.

Nah Suarez and Gerrard are on a par for me. Gerrard is a scrubby thug off the pitch as much as he is on the pitch, giving it the big man and assaulting people as he likes because he's Stevie Starfish, too famous to go to jail. I think Suarez is a detestable character on the pitch but that's the only place you see that side of him, from what I have seen, unlike Gerrard. Gerrard gets absolutely no sympathy from me whatsoever.

Not very nice, sending out mixed messages to cameramen like this. Needs to decide if he wants to kiss them or if he wants them to stay away, can't have both.
This is so true. I used to do a lot of football photography (still do some but it's non-league) and the one thing that used to wind me up (and others I know) were the players who were running to you to celebrate right in front of you one moment but hated it when things went wrong and you tried to get a shot. It used to guarantee that the lens would be poked in your face next time there was a problem if you behaved like this.

Disagree, not much in it at all.

Technically or tactically. What elevates Gerrard past Toure may I ask?

Comparing Toure to Gerrard is kinda like comparing british to french cuisine. Sure, the british is nice and decently taste and most importantly, it makes you stuffed. But in quality its not close to reaching the french one.

Yeah, I agree. And there's nothing wrong with Gerrard being a tier below the best midfielders of recent times. Liverpool fans don't like it but it's pretty clear imo. Superb player, just not quite at the very top.

Now this is a story all about how,
Gerrard slipped up and hit the ground.
So I'd like to take a minute to laugh at that fool,
I'll tell you how he became the Self Seeking Git from Liverpool.

In West Inbred Scouserland, playing games,
Acting like the big man, swaggering, most of his days.
Went on a winning streak, 10 in a row,
To the top if the league with four games to go.
When they won against City, they were feeling the joy,
Gerrard put in place his attention seeking ploy,
He huddled up with his team mates, a group of bellends.
And shouted up to the camera that "We Go Again".

Their next game was Chelsea, and as it drew near,
The papers showed us photos of his cries and his tears.
He could have given Liverpool reason to cheer,
But he thought "Nah, forget it"
"I'll just slip up here!"

Then. The. Dream fell apart when Gayle scored at 88',
And the tyre nicking scumbag learned the hard way;
Never count your chickens, that's the golden rule!
You Self Seeking Git from Liverpool.

Well they are actually more alike than you think. Both are very gifted footballers who aren't really CMs but aren't really No. 10s either. (And modern Brit cuisine compares quite well with the French).

I'd take current Toure over Gerrard at any time.

He's a monster.

Domestically, yes, and, having endured our shambolic midfield for several years, I would love to have him at United. But, if you are comparing him with Gerrard (certainly peak Gerrard, given he's a few years older than Toure), it is a black mark on Toure's record that he hasn't had much impact for City in the Champions League. Compare that to Gerrard who played a big role in Liverpool getting to two finals with a far less stellar supporting cast than Toure has at City. I think Gerrard, like other leading English players, ends up being underrated as non-Liverpool/non-England fans get pissed off by the excessive media cheerleading.

should have organised his team better last night after conceding the first. a naive performance youd expect from a young captain. i suppose thats the difference between top players and top top players
