Not too clued up on Australian political landscape.
Conservatives are losing right?
Yeah they're out for sure. Think the Q is whether we have a Labour majority or coalition.

Is Australia Labour party left wing? like compared to the centre right version in the uk.

Yeah. Part of the reason is they got beaten in some of their safe seats by so called “Teal” independents. Teal = blue + green. Moderate conservative candidates that ran on a climate platform.

#scottyfrommarketing has quit as leader of the Libs
Be interesting to see who replaces him, they’ve a lot of work mending bridges with their voters.

edit seeing reports that Dutton is next in line, so Labor win next time round locked in.

I'd say Labour are reasonably likely to get just enough seats to form majority government but it will be close. The Greens could well.end up.with 4 seats which would be a huge victory for them. And lots of Teal Independents.

Libs absolutely destroyed in WA. Greens did really well in Brisbane. There is even an outside chance they will get another seat in Northern NSW.

ABC News has given 72 seats to Labor. Based on projections, Richmond, Macnamara and now Bennelong are going ALP. We need 1 more seat in 6 for majority.

Ideally they fall just short of a majority goverment, as then the Greens and Independents can keep them semi accountable on the climate stuff. Though obviously want them to be close enough to the majority that they don't need all of them for every vote.

ABC now have them at 74 with Macnamara likely and Lyons ahead. A few of the rest still to close to call. The senate will be hung (again) with Labor and Greens probably still being a couple of seats away from a majority.

Madonna Jarrett leads by 8,154 votes 55.2 – 44.8
The greens fell to third on primary votes – by 34 votes at this stage.

The Liberal party is falling apart as seemingly is the conservative movement in Australia.

Now the dust is settling and the true extent of the liberal party bullshit is being realised, especially the crap surrounding that text message on Saturday. That could easily be the message that demonstrated the end of the liberal party as we know. fecking terrible.

Labor have a majority with 77 seats (76 needed for a majority) in the lower house. Probably good news and with a slim enough margin and minority in the upper house keeping them collaborative.

Barnaby Joyce has been dumped by the Nationals as leader (shame :)) and the Libs have elected a new leader Peter Voldemort Dutton.
