ATM we are like kids in candy shop just waiting for parents to get us those sweet candy's.So many options in front of us and still nothing in hand.
More like Kids outside the candy shop before opening hours, licking the windows desperate for some treats. When the shops open, we still wait outside while the other kids rush in during the day, clearing the stock. Finally at closing stuck with the left overs, we say "Sir, how much do you want for that?" And he says "I'll take all you have and your shoes"

This views are not mine but the views of transfer department of Manchester Un-tied :lol::lol:

You keep saying this in every thread, but what exactly are those things that Pogba does much better than Verratti? You know, things that are important for a midfielder...
No, I've said it only in Pogba's thread because I rarely talk about Verratti as he is absolutely unobtainable, in my opinion.

Verratti has 6 goals over 260+ games over his entire professional career; Pogba would be disappointed with that return over 30 games. Crossing, final ball, final third movement on and off the ball, shooting - basically every single aspect of attacking midfield play Pogba is light years above Verratti at.

The thing is, it's not an insult to Verratti because in terms of: tackling, defensive positioning, metronomic passing, one and two touch passing and re-positioning to receive the ball and pretty much every other aspect of deep midfield play, he wipes the floor with Pogba.

Their paths cross only slightly in the #8 role.

At heart, Verratti is a #6, #8 hybrid and Pogba a #10 and a very fleeting #8. If you defined either as an all-out #8, they both have big flaws in relation to that particular position.

As a PSG fan and as a Frenchman (I'm probably incorrectly assuming), who would you rather have... Pogba or Verratti?

honestly I just see pogba as a flashy tall player who is more self-indulgent than talented... no disrespect to his talents... I just think he might not attain the heights which YouTube and the press prepare for him.. expectations will always IMO overpower his true talents worth.
verratti on the other hand is a genius of a kid, skill, intelligence vission, tenacity, composure... my only worry for him is how he holds the ball with calm in dangerous areas, but then he doesn't even loose them which just stands him out... verratti is the player the English press thought wilshere would be.
pogba has that little bit of bendtner(of course not the same level of talent) about him that makes him think he actually is better than he really is hence the showboat.
but anyday, verratti.

The only thing from that list I agree that Pogba is much better is shooting. I have seen nothing to suggest that his movement is anything special(he's much better with the ball than without it) and his crossing and vision is no better than Verratti's.

I initially wrote a much longer post, but this thread is probably not the place to compare these two. :)

I think you are skipping a few steps

First put together a good team, then actually start playing some decent football again, then start winning games and get into the CL again, then stay in the CL until after the winter and get as far as possible, then repeat all this for the coming seasons.

We do that for a couple of years in a row and win some trophies, get into a CL final again and we can start to think about realistically competing for players like Pogba and Verratti.

Then if we get those players and we can actually hold on to them for more than 1 season and we build on that we can start to look up at teams like Barca, Real, Bayern etc

David Moyes account confirmed.

Right,

I'am just stating the obvious here, the way in which we are currently playing, players like Verratti and Pogba will never ever join us if they have the option to join Real Madrid, Bayern, Barca or even PSG. We are not contenders for serious trophies and we are not even in the CL. We have nothing to offer for ambitious to players compared to the previously mentioned clubs.

Hence if you think we can just close the gap with Real, barca, bayern by signing big name players you are really mistaken, we just can't sign these players in our current situation. We could 4 years ago when we were top dogs in the PL but we wasted our position. We will have to get back into that position if we want to sign those kind of players. Thinking we can just skip all those steps in 1 summer because we signed Mourinho and are Manchester United is beyond ridiculous.

It was a joke mate. We're a way off.

Official Sevilla FC account: Sampaoli has arrived in Seville to discuss becoming manager of the club. I love how the official Sevilla twitter account is coming out with news like that (similar happened before Emery left yesterday) despite nothing being agreed yet  Very unusual IMO.

Is he bringing the rest of the Strike Team as his backroom staff?

No one has denied that Pogba is technically gifted. Yes, he is a superior 'athlete' to Verratti, but Verratti has superior qualities of his own too. Why are you so hung up on the physical side? They are both athletes. Verratti is very good defensively, underrated in fact, and is also a very good dribbler. I just don't see why you use physicality against Verratti. Yaya, also a physical specimen, couldn't get into the freakish Barca midfield and was eventually pushed back to CB. His competition? The diminutive Xavi, Iniesta etc etc.
messi, kante, claude....

Pitbull to take over at Sevilla? Nice!

So Vin Diesel has joined the club too? Hope he's heading the scouting department.

L'Equipe: Feghouli close to West Ham

According to Sport, and their reporter Gerard Romero, Sane will sign for City after the tournament.

If West Ham pull of some of these transfers they are attempting they can be real dangerous.

Looks like we're at the, no one knows what's happening, stage of the transfer. I fully expect the president of Basel to come out this week and say he's going nowhere for less than 40m euros.

United's name being thrown out to jack up the price for Leipzig. Nothing more to it.

I love how you say this with such confidence, almost like it's actually factual.

No reason to believe we're not genuinely interested in one of Europe's bright young talents.

Apart from you know, absolutely no one that anybody has head of whatsoever, or any reputable newspaper whatsoever, linking us to him.

But despite that, yes, I'm sure two week old stories from a Swiss free paper was definitely spot on.

André Gomes: "I'm not worried what happens after the Euros. What I can say is that Mourinho is a great manager."
