Chelsea know they need a proper world class midfielder; they look at Fellaini. I would laugh if that one is true. Not the sort of player they need. They've got Ramires who I would say is quite similar but better.
I'm not sure signing Sigurdsson is going to strike fear into the likes of City, Barca or Real. He looks a good player but I wouldn't be at all convinced he's going to come here and be good enough to start every week. Then again, depending on Fletcher's health, we may need more cover.

Sometimes these players are better. If we went on the idea that you don't sign players from smaller clubs we would never have signed the like of Irwin, Bruce, or god help us someone from Norwegian football like OGS.
The Sigurdsson stuff surely is just because of Fergie being at Swansea. I hope theres truth in it I think he is a cracking wee player and a deadly passer. I wouldnt say no to him being in the squad but I doubt theres anything to it.

Not the best example as I was all for us signing Valencia. But I understand the point you're making. I just don't think he's going to improve us and we ought to be looking to do more than make sideways moves in the transfer market.

I don't think we'll sign Sigurdsson for 'cover'. Assuming Anderson and Cleverley manage to stay vertical for a reasonable portion of next season, we've got enough players - Carrick, Scholes, Ando, Clev, Fletcher, Giggs, Pogba? It's quality, not quantity, we need.
Fergie and the players were at the Cardiff City stadium today as well. Fergie was doing his home work on Swansea but he could have an interest in the Swans midfielder, we will know this summer. Would make a superb squad team player. Young, hungry and talented. Charlie Adam only has the middle part.
