This is in full effect right now, they were kissing fans arses a couple of weeks ago when the ESL was looming, but now the threat is over and they've secured the bag they are sneering down their noses at the fans today, worried that their game won't go ahead, as we all knew they don't give a feck about football they were just the lesser of two evils as i said between the ESL fiasco.

Yeah, but we already knew sky were only against it because they never got offered a slice of the pie.

Had the rights part of it even been discussed yet? Bit out of the loop... so maybe it is known, but who came out from sky itself as against it?

The leaked document mentioned that clubs will keep the rights to sell some of their own games - resulting in direct broadcasting revenue through their channel partners.

So, out of interest I checked Sky's twitter and their coverage on how they perceive the Newcastle deal and to absolute no one's surprise it's all enthusiastic and cheerful gibberish.
Not even half a year after everyone on that channel was agreeing that too much external investors and money has poised the heart of football and the connection to the fans or whatever they called it, they're back cheering on the money as long as it goes into their pockets.

This obviously doesn't make the Super League look better but OP was spot on regarding the laughable hypocrisy of the PL ("legal assurance that KSA are not involved" hahaha) and Sky. I also wonder what happened to the great fan-led review of football that was initiated by the government?

I suppose the only positive is this should hopefully reduce the prevalence of Islamophobia in working class communities, because how can you hate the idea of Sharia Law when your club owners enforce it.

After all the opposition to the Superleague and how money is ruining football, and now there's almost universal adulation for this deal.

Sky and Premier League are more than happy to sell their soul to line their pockets. One minute virtue signaling about pro-LGBTQ and equality. The next minute they’re letting human rights abusers take over clubs and giving them a fecking fanfare as they enter.

Make no mistake, they were fecking terrified of the European Super League. Their ulterior motive was them not getting a piece of the pie but hid behind an appeal to emotion with “think of all the clubs you’re putting out of business!”

Edit: Damn predictive text :o
