I was reading the Falcao thread of him possibly being sold and being disposed of at Chelsea this January due to him being rather disappointing. After 1.5 years most of us Caftards have the consensus that he just is not as good because of his injury. However it took about 1.5 year for some to get to accept this, with the thought that our set-up is very difficult for a striker to prosper in or/and that it was due to him not being in form and he would get better in time. In total he played 26 games for us and scored 4 goals. At Chelsea he played 9 games and scored once.
I somewhat feel the same with Rooney. He is currently at 11 PL games and scored twice this season. Combined with the way he has played this season, I don't think it is very harsh to say he is pretty on par with how Falcao performed here last season. The people defending him say that our set-up is very difficult for a striker to prosper in or/and that it was due to him not being in form and he will get better in time. I feel his overall skill just declined. The point I am trying to make, will Rooney walk the same path as Falcao? What does it take for us to accept he just isn't up to par anymore? Or will he find his form and take it to the next level?
