The 'How you getting to Bilbao' thread

Must be loads of tickets in the hands of Athletic fans, or even some rabid Bodo G supporters.

Bus from Madrid is a good option. There are buses from barajas airport to Bilbao bus station(next to the stadium)

For the ones coming by car, unless you arrive early in the morning, parking will be complicated.
Best option is to park in Bilbao Exhibition center (BEC) and take the metro to the center (10min)
Who will you guys be rooting for? We used to have a soft spot for Athletic after you gave us the run around with that Bielsa team. Will the same hold and "the semi was the final"?

There's Ander as well, of course.

Or maybe you couldn't care less now and they are just guiris?

Why?? They don’t have an allocation??

If you really look, you can still find tickets in places like Frankfurt, Lyon, Glasgow—basically any city whose team was still alive in the quarterfinals. The UEFA ticket ballot closed at the beginning of April.

It’s always like this with UEFA finals. Back in 2012, I got 6 tickets from Schalke fans.

In Bilbao, there was a huge number of registrations. Nothing to lose—it’s the final at home, you can always go anyway.

I read many posts and tweets from lucky people in tha ballot. I even have a colleague with 8 tickets.

I had 2 tickets won by a work colleague in the UEFA ballot. He offered them to me for face value €180 each. I can't make it as it's my 50th birthday the day of the final and we've booked a holiday going the next day. He ended up selling them for $1450 each! I think he was quite happy said no.

You guys doing it all wrong.

Get Tinder Premium, set your location to Bilbao

Get swiping, head out early and stay at your new senoirita’s place

Hired a camper van in Manchester, 16 hour drive to Bilbao leaving Tuesday morning. £150 a man for 6 of us plus fuel. Least we’ve got somewhere to sleep!

Couldn't pay me to go. It's on 't telly. Don't like that foreign food and they don't speak English.

Where are you seeing that? Anywhere I see is at least 1250

That's the resale market though, 40 - 250 is face value. Inflation gone crazy though, it was £500 outside the ground when we played Barca at Wembley in the UCL Final.

Just found out I got a ticket.

Will be flying from New York to Madrid, landing 9am on match day then planning on doing the drive up. Prices are crazy to fly to Bilbao.

Currently planning on drive back post game through the night for a 10.50am flight back to New York.

If anyone is planning on doing the drive at similar times from Madrid, let me know.

Just found an EasyJet one from Manchester to Paris for £100 return (out on Tuesday, back on Thursday or Friday) From London is £58. Another £100 or so to rent a car. Not the most seamless journey but would be a good laugh with a few going
Thanks for that as we have actually now booked exactly this !

Yeah nobody responded.

Do people think it would be worth going without a ticket, just for the party?

I've been to Bilbao before. IIRC there's a warren of streets in the old town with lots of bars.

Depends what your idea of a party is. Will be chaos in Bilbao and hotel prices are mental. Police likely to be all over the English.

But I'm going

I second this question. Worth going without a ticket?

Absolutely yes - I've done Euroaways without any ticket, there are always other ticketless Reds around watching in bars

The match is often the worst bit of a Euroaway !

A mate ended up buying a ticket for 2500 for that Wembley final. I said feck that, not worth it to get in

Me and my brother got tickets, but I think I'm giving mine up.

He's considering driving all the way there
We were close to choosing to drive all the way - if you can get 2 or 3 of you to split the driving then it's doable

Having a car gives flexibility on where to stay too as no chance to find anywhere in Bilbao now

Respect for the effort.

Please say you'll sell it to a fellow red? :D

Yes it's going to my cousin that's been to every Europa League game this season - even I haven't done that so he deserves it more then me

I’m a very safe driver and fine with distances. Always done Cornwall in a oner (5 hours), no problem.

Just putting it out there…

I need your strong bladder!

We have settled on driving to Santander at this point, got an Ibis there from Tuesday - Thursday for £315 so it's not too bad, free cancellation as well so if the day trips appear we can jump on that instead.

Nothing under a £1K at the moment, same listing have been up all day as well so they're obviously struggling to shift rooms at that rate.

Was planning to go but missed out due to missing a game. 14k allocation is a joke. Was going to go via Malaga which has cheap connections

Most people will be rooting for Spurs. We’ve gone 40 years without a trophy, lost a bunch of finals… easy to feel for them
As for Herrera, he’s not exactly a uniting figure. People here still remember that failed transfer on deadline day in 2013—it felt like a shady move. We’re not really a selling club either. Our market is limited, so money doesn’t do much for us.

Adjacent to the thread - but I’m still seeing so many Bilbao fans in Piccadilly - they seem to be making the most out of the city - business is booming all over (also helps that the weather has been incredible)

I wonder if when our new stadium’s done if we’ll be hosting finals. The city seems to benefit from it.

They kill the atmosphere by giving such small allocations. The stadium holds 53,000 ffs. It’s the same story at Wembley
