The 'How you getting to Bilbao' thread

There's a rideshare app in Spain you could use. Can't remember the name.

If someone's driving somewhere, they advertise on the app and you chip in a few quid for the ride.

Yeah I bet the locals are queing to drive back pissed up Brits at 2am :)

12 hour coach from Alicante there and another 12 hours back, staying at the family villa for a week so not bad.

The journey coming back is going to be brutal, as the coach doesn't leave Bilbao until 8am. So, it's gonna be a long, fun night wandering around the bars....

The old man said we get to Bilbao for 8am wednesday morning, and then leave the same time Thursday morning. I think its safe to say I'm going to be cream crackered on that coach ride back.

Basically, I'll be awake for a solid 24 hours, and on the beers, ah boy, let's hope it's worth the effort eh?...

Same here but a day on the beer in Barcelona beforehand to add to the excitement

Casually flexing the family villa on us!

A word of warning to people who don't have tickets. Bilbao and Spanish cities in general are not easy to find a good place to find a match.

Most bars are quite small, I don't know if there's a plan for a big screen. There'll be a huge amount of United fans and Spurs fans. It could be a bit chaitic. Maybe find an Irish pub early. Also, there's a bit of an anti-English feeling about tourism at the moment and the police can get overly aggressive as a result. So I'd say plan ahead and think sensibly.

Some real commitment from reds all over the place to see their team play in Bilbao.

I have probably got one the most boring routes, already in Marbella from Friday for something so instead of going home and playing Wacky Races I am getting a direct flight into Bilbao from Malaga on Monday evening.

Return trip is a direct flight out of Bilbao into Manchester at around 9AM on Thursday.

I'm cycling to Bordeaux and then swimming across the Bay of Biscay.
Keep a cold one and some pinxtos at the ready for my triumphant arrival.

The effort our fans are putting in, I just hope the players turn up for them.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Massive credit to everyone putting in this effort

Just relax and enjoy it. It's an amazing city and we might not be in a European final for a while again.

Eat, drink and be merry.

Absolutely! Been pulling my hair out for a week now trying to plan everything, but will be loving life once I'm there.
Fair play to the lot of you in this thread!

Really hope you're basking in the glory of victory come the end of the match to make it a trip worth remembering!

Sort of jealous, sort of not!

After party at Red Devil's family villa 12h away!!
Is no one else flying into Madrid?
You need any help organising anything in Madrid or just looking for friends, bus friends?

Just secured a ticket this morning from the extra drop for chubbed season ticket holders. At this point, there isnt a lot of reasonable options for transport. Bit the bullet and booked a day trip via Worldchoice sports, fingers crossed it isnt a scam.

A special feck you goes to Easyjet who are still trying to flog direct return flights from Manchester to Bilbao for £1400+ on Wednesday and Thursday.

For anyone looking for accommodation in Santander I have a triple room at Centersuite Santander from 20-22 April for £120 on Hotels.com. I dont need it anymore so I am going to cancel it by Friday. Not sure if Hotels.com lets you change people easily, but if you want to give it a go message me.

Worldchoice sports off the record have said that their current understanding that will be confirmed today is that all specially chartered Manchester flights will be going to Santander, specially chartered london flights will be going vitoria, with official flights going Bilbao. Might be bullshit but we will see. If it is the case, you would think the local authorities will be putting on busses to get people away back to the flights. Thats how it was in Rome anyway, but time will tell.

Yup. Not ideal. But given in coming in from New York (im a Manc and ST holder who now lives here) flying into Madrid and driving up is really the only option.
Less than half of my drive as we flying to Paris

I know a few driving all the way from Manchester too so Madrid is just down the road !

There’s a group that usually organise a few coaches isn’t there? I’ve seen it on Facebook. I think there planning on going to France and staying over for a night and then of to Bilbao on the Wednesday morning.
