Both, with the emphasis on the second. The aim is to build a strong team that gets the most out of your maverick and liability. With a liability in tow, I think we need to think of the matches as head-to-head games. Have you built a cohesive enough team around your maverick to ensure he shines here? Is your liability sufficiently protected in this game not to lose it for you? I mean your liability could be Senderos at centre-half but if the opposition only have Dickov up top you’ll probably be okay.
