If Wayne ended up out wide, that was his own doing and his own fault. He was supposed to be out CF, but cannot resist wandering about. He completely lack discipline.
Yup, it doesn't really matter where we play him, he always ends up deep and getting in other players way and space.

Why can't we get rid of him the same way we got rid of RvP when he was considered past it?
Would Rangers buy him?
RVP was not past it, the trouble was that Rooney never passed the ball or linked up with him. The same thing will happen to Zlatan if Rooney is allowed to play a major role in our team. Rooney's main play over the years is a ball out to the right wing followed by a delayed entry into the box to meet the cross. Its why he loves Valencia who will cross it everytime because he can't cut inside with his left foot and why he chastised Nani who would cut in and try different things.

Oh absolutely. This is all largely for show, but at the same time it is still leaving the ball in Rooney's court. Mourinho started the season with Rooney established in our strongest 11. Rooney didn't perform. So now Mourinho is going to start phasing him out, while still giving him the opportunities to prove he should still be in there. If Rooney can't even take those opportunities (as he didn't in this match), he'll find himself getting less and less chances, and the ones he does get will more often be in the 'lesser' match of the week rather than in with the strongest 11.

That's how I see things going over the next two months or so, and it'll be up to Rooney as to how things will end. If he doesn't perform, he's got no leg to stand on to complain when he gets dropped more and more.
This sounds reasonable. I think Mou knew all along he was done, but instead of just giving him the Hart treatment, he can now safely drop him without it causing a media shitstorm. Still, no matter how delicately he handles it, there will be some kind of reaction from the media once he starts dropping him regularly.

Anyways, feck the clowns in the media. By now he can drop him and have backing from 99% of the fanbase. Won't be anything like with Casillias and Madrid

I remember a motd analysis where they were constantly operating in the same area. Its like he actively competes against team mates who he feels threatened by.
