This is quite surprising, but in a good way. Look forward to seeing what happens when our players are fit and if/when the performances actually pick up

You tag still cracks me up
It's what happens when unfunny people are given a bit of authority over those they cannot hope to realistically beat in a fair argument/discussion.

Then again, it could be worse. Could be yours.

Car crash of a thread.

This is it. This takes us to halfway through the season and if anyone thinks we're getting more than 12 points here, I'd be shocked.

Obertans #1 fan.
As Spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool have shown in their last games in the prem, beating bottom half teams doesn’t count as it is so easy.

Nah, don't fall for that shite. The 4 wins were Luton H, Fulham A, Brentford H, Sheff United A, all torturous one goal victories against poor opposition, with 3 of the goals coming in injury time.

Yes, the positives are despite how poor we're playing and our injuries we're still capable of ekeing out results against the "bottom third" teams in the league. It's something to cling on to at least.

But I don't think any United fan seriously believes our current form would be enough to beat the top half teams. Forget even City, Liverpool, Arsenal, would we be confident of beating Villa, Newcastle, Brighton if we were to play them next week?
What’s the timeline for our players to return from injury?

Additionally, didn’t brentford just beat Tottenham?

additionally it’s a fact, can’t say it’s not true. OP didn’t say we blew them away,we played graceful slick attacking football, he’s just saying in terms of numbers we are the most in form. It’s just the truth.

As Spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool have shown in their last games in the prem, beating bottom half teams doesn’t count as it is so easy.
City needed an 88th minute goal to beat Sheffield United and lost to Wolves.

Arsenal squeaked past Everton 1-0, threw away a lead to draw with 10-man Fulham, and found themselves hanging on late against Forest to win by a single goal.

Newcastle were just hammered by Bournemouth, threw away a lead to draw with Wolves, and needed a penalty to beat Brentford.

Liverpool required a 95th minute goal to draw with Luton, a red card, a penalty and and a 97th minute goal to put away Everton, and 85th minute goal and 91st minute own goal to put away Wolves.

Spurs have just lost to Wolves, only beat Luton 1-0, required 98th and 100th minute goals to come from behind and beat Sheffield United, and had to come from behind to draw with Brentford.

You'd think these teams were winning by at least three goals every time they played a team from the bottom half the way people go on about our results.

The next 10+ look horrendous for this side. Let's see how it goes (6/10 away).

Ofcourse its a fact and table doesn't lie. Problem is gloating over it. It means feck all and out of all people , we should know about it.

Yes. We have has horrible luck with VAR and injuries and things will only get better but deary me, to glorify this 1-0 wins as "most" form team is embarrassing.

Scratchy wins against teams we should win easily against. Our form looks like this because of the luck of the draw giving us those games.

Yes 12 points from 15. Man utd is the most in-form team in the premier league.

The defence is good. The midfield is also getting better with Casemiro, Bruno and Mctominay cementing their position. Attack is Hojlund, Rashford and Ganarcho.

Thanks for trying to start a positive thread! Loving the fact that we are hanging in there and grinding out some wins.

But…our goal difference is still negative. We’re the only team in the top 10 for which that’s true.

Hope these scratchy wins translate to some real momentum. And the goals start flowing.

Idk who is gloating over it, seems more like shock. It shows some grit to not give up when we aren’t playing smoothly, and then to score and win.

It could be 6 points out of a potential 21 in our current form.

13 goals from 12 games. Feckin' unbelievable.
Draws with Chelsea, Everton and Villa alongside a plucky 1-0 win over Bournemouth?

Wait, we don't do draws. 5-0 away win at Anfield then.

Continue the way we've been playing and we'll get smoked. Be lucky to get Europa league. Been very fortunate to have had 4 lower bottom half of the table teams in our last 5 games and even then we only snuck wins via a single goal.

We're at least 4 extremely lucky hair splitting last minute win.

The question is how long can we maintain in this super lucky form
Chances are we actually will improve slightly at some point in time going forward , under Ten Hag we more often than not have been on the right side of the results when it comes to close games and I can actually see this continuing once we have more players coming back from injuries but having said that quality of our play is nothing to write about even when are at full strength So decision needs to be made either way .

If Chelsea beat City today (A big if), Manchester United is only 6 points away from top.
And that gap extrapolated over the season would turn out be 19 points if form remains the same for all teams Stats right , you can push what ever narrative you want unless you actually are ready to do deep dive .

Man Utd have beaten:
Luton; Wolves; Forest; Sheff Utd; Burnley; Brentford; Fulham.
All of those victories were marginal and unconvincing. Some downright lucky.

When we have played the better teams, they are completely exposed. We shipped four against FC Copenhagen. We have a goal difference of minus three.

We are playing, consistently dreadful football. And we are sixth. Sixth.

And some fans think there isn't anything to be concerned about?

This is what happens when the culture of the club regressess. Expectations lower.

Chelsea, City, Liverpool... I could go on and on about clubs who would not accept this. Liverpool lost form.last season and Klopp made it very clear, publicly that it wasn't acceptable, things have to change, and he was responsible. And you can see the development, and it will continue because you can see he is changing things.

ETH?

The man is lost. Completely lost I'm afraid to say.

Narratives in the media infuriate me. United are treated different to every other club. Chelsea have no Champions League football, spent over £1 billion on last then 18 months, there is absolutely no pressure on Poch to succeed this season, why? There is constant excuses of injuries and having a young squad.

Ten Hag has not had 3 of his back 4 for most of this season. That’s been a key loss to us, especially with trying to play out from the back because Maguire and Lindelof can’t do it. I don’t think this has been highlighted enough. We also have one CF who’s only 20.

We have put a decent gap between us and the bottom three and that could be crucial at the end of the season.

Why would you extrapolate results?

I'd be somewhat upbeat about this, but:

1) Our attack is still shite, can't score and doesn't look like it's improving.

2) None of our key Injured players are anywhere near returning.
