Someone mentions Jose's acheivments.

You say "Didn't he call Wenger a specialist in failure for similar acheivements?..."

Does that second line not insinuate that you were referring to him as similar to a specialist in failure?
No its insinuates I think the achievements are nothing to boast about

The issue is very few managers will deliver the level of exciting football that the caf have ramped up the expectation on. In fact I'd dare say not one available manager will.

It's one of the most false arguments on here that we're boring and those who do it most often are LvG fans still, which is telling
LVG still has fans?:)

Can I just ask, why do some posters who are Pro-Jose get annoyed with posters who are Anti-Jose, and vice versa? Because it doesn't make a difference what any of us think. At the end of the day, the Glazers and EW will decide Jose's fate. If you want to see Jose stay manager for a while yet, that's your right as a fan. If you want to see a new manager come in soon (I'm in that camp now) then that's also fine.

We must stop the in-fighting and digs at each other. It won't resolve anything.

Too many people simply dont seem to understand football. That sounds arrogant and i dont even believe its true but people are happy to sound like absolute idiots to suit their narrative. Pretending theres a world where a team is constantly playing amazing football is stupid. Pretending theres more than a few times a season that a team plays scintillating dominant stuff for an entire 90 mins is stupid.
I genuinely think this is a new phenomenon starting to rise with the highlights era. Seeing 9 minutes of the best bits of the other teams playing football and then proclaiming to be an expert on how they play and not seeing any of the bad stuff. Then just expecting us to be perfect all the time.

The team definitely suffers from a lack of rhythm and cadence though. You have to only look to "wingers at fullback, 10's on the wing, Pogba who is an un-classifiable wherever he is on the pitch that is his position, not enough attacking penetration to let Lukaku loose properly, hoofing" that you see in an entire game that you wouldn't see watching BBC match of the day.

If that doesn't explain it then I have no idea what will. Some of the drivel in the Pogba threads is nauseating, sycophancy to a guy who is obviously taking the piss out of the fans and I am left gobsmacked how people think this is okay and can then turn around and just blame Mourinho for everything. Even though his main star player is derailing the team and acting like a turnip.

Unless we win every game 4-0 with 20+ shots on target and Pogba getting a hat trick with a dab for every goal, Jose should be sacked.

In 08-09, we won several games 1-0 even against not so top class teams, should SAF have been criticized as well?
1. If you aren't being deliberately obtuse, you should understand people will be happy with much less than winning every match 4-0.
2. No, SAF wouldn't be criticized because that's SAF and this is Jose. Just like we are criticizing Pogba because he is Pogba and not Messi.

If you want to see arrogance look at that thread in which the poster calls fans who are still for Mourinho uber masculine nazis. That was a tad condescending and apparently acceptable.

If this form continues for a while though, you will see that my post will look different regarding Mourinho.
No, you seem to think that anyone who wants Mourinho gone is basing it on 6 games, I'm sorry but that's an extremely narrow minded view to hold. There's posters from both sides resorting to condescending bollox and name calling, so stop with the holier than thou rubbish. The 'Mourinho in' camp have just as many cretins as the 'Mourinho out' camp. Conversely, there are good articulated posters from both sides making valid, thoughtful arguments as to why they have reached their conclusion. If you keep demeaning peoples posts with patronising rubbish like 'hysteria' etc, it's not really a very well constructed way to try and put your point across.

Sack Mourinho and sell Pogba. They have both gone to far. Man Utd is not a club that should be like a bad TV soap opera almost every day now. Bring in Eddie Howe, keep Carrick and McKenna and start to rebuild in a manner befitting our great club. A player and a manager thinking it´s all about them should just bugger of together. We need to face the facts that we have a squad full of average players, get rid of them and build the team around De Gea, Dalot,Shaw,Martial,Rashford and the younger players we have at the club plus quailty buy´s. I would keep Baily,Smalling,Matic,Fred,Peireira,Lukaku but much of the rest should be moved on. I think most fans would get behind a proper rebuild and for me Eddie Howe could be a very smart choice for Man Utd.

Could well be based on expectations of some. I would settle for how Derby played tbh, except we could drop in a higher quality of player to improve on it further. That and a more positive attitude from our manager and I would be happy. Anyway, this is the IN thread so will bow out as I obviously want him gone.

That argument simply doesn't hold water when even someone like an inexperienced Lampard has his team playing a better style of football than Manchester United at the moment.

Do you think Derby are playing consistently better football than United? Were MK Franchise better than us just because they beat us in the cup under LVG?

Why are excuses always made for our club? Plenty of other teams with lesser players are able to function as a team and play football that is pleasing on the eye. Also plenty of managers are able to implement it without needing hundreds of millions of transfer funds and several seasons to rebuild a team. Why is our club exception? We have every right to demand better that what we're getting.

Unless you want to hire Lampard I'm unsure of your point? Inexperienced hires are irrelevant.

It's about those that can play to the entertainment standard demanded whilst still being successful at the top level.

Poch, Simeone, Allegri, Zidane are all below the Liverpool and City level our fans are demanding and we'd end up with the same arguments in a year.

I agree that we should demand better, of course. But not every club has had this scattergun approach with no long-term vision for over 5 years now. And I'd argue that lack of long-term planning reaches back before SAF retiring, given how completely unprepared the club was for him and Gill leaving.

Then there's finding players who can cope with expectations that are quite probably beyond what they can deliver.

I don't even think it's about style that much, it's about how determined a team is and how willing players are to fight for each other, mostly, IMV.

See above, it's no excuse for anything i don't really see how you've arrived at that. It's my view in the manager landscape that's all.

We're not any club we're demanding success and entertainment and there's very few managers who can deliver that at the top level. Not to this new standard anyway.

I think it’s because expectations are higher at our club. At the end of the day, we finished second last season. Lots of clubs beneath us in the table were easier on the eye but maybe the only way to get our current squad to achieve what it did is by being far more risk averse than most other clubs?

Feck knows. The shitty start to this season undermines that theory. Although then you can’t ignore all the stuff about Mourinho wanting a top CB and not getting one.

Anyhoo. I dislike the guy and want him gone. Really just arguing the toss at this point!

Jose plays a tight game but he'a a winner, and if he were managing any other club in the world most of you would be yelling "LvG/Moyes clone out, Jose in".

Mou got us into second place last year, instilling a winning mentality in the squad and not giving up. Isn't that what we craved for after Moyes and LvG?

What's more is Mourinho has won countless titles since he began his management career and managed at top clubs.

Now we have an extroverted player who can't seem to put his hand off his phone questioning the manager's tactics in public and actively using his slimeball of an agent (whom our Legend SAF hated btw) to disrupt the club and force a move elsewhere.

And people still want Mourinho out.
Nice speech!! Do we look like a team who’s going to win the title? That is enough for him to be sacked I’m afraid. He’s been a failure.. 3 years no EPL title, not good enough.

No - but do we consistently play good football either? No.

Our best run of performances happened at the start of last season where our 4-0 wins actually exaggerated the way we were playing.

The clubs that are better than us are playing football that completely strangulates the opposition - by taking possession away from them or by playing very high press football - the opposition are significantly on the back foot and weakened.

We on the other hand - even when we play well; willingly give the control of the game to the other side so we can sit back whilst they attack & just wait for the occasional moment to attack to catch them by surprise. We should attack attack said Pogba - there is absolutely nothing wrong about counterattack football; just for a club like United - that can't be your one and only tactics.

We were playing counterattacking football against both Derby & Wolves - it's just not right. Buying willian over messi is something only Jose would ever consider because he has such strict defensive and strict attacking tactics that it impairs a lot of players & that is historically proven.

Jose's type of Type B, counter attacking successful driven football is absolutely wonderful for clubs like Porto, Chelsea, Inter - who have spent years under the shadows of more dominant clubs & need to get their heads up; likewise it was okay for a whilst when Real Madrid were looking for a way to beat the might of Barcelona.
Ultimately it gets tiresome for big clubs to play like small clubs & it is not sustainable. It is absolutely rubbish for a team like United to willingly give prominence to clubs that come to old Trafford - as been said by many ex players now; no one is simply scared to come face us.

If it's not about 6 games, then why weren't people so vocal about sacking him at the end of last season? The hysteria that's been created on here is more about what's going on between Mourinho and Pogba, and what Mourinho has been saying since last season ended, than actual football.
A lot of people wanted him gone after Sevilla, what are you talking about. If he left in the summer no one would have cared expect you few 10 commandment fans. ‘Thal shall stick behind the manager’

There's a difference between not having scintillating football and getting beaten back-to-back by Brighton, looking hopeless against a Championship side, generally struggling against far lesser opposition and looking utterly rudderless in attack.

So you're saying the number of people wanting him out hasn't changed since the summer and the side circus that's happening has nothing to do with the hysteria on here? Why wasn't there a massive number of fans asking for him to be sacked in the summer, if they're basing it on the 2 years he's been here?

Are you also claiming people aren't acting hysterically on here? That would be a pretty bold clame.

Plenty were at the end of their tether with him after the Seville game so stop making stuff up. Obviously things have deteriorated since then, so it's logical that more people want him gone now. I mean, is that not fairly obvious? I was sick of our style of play last season and thought we had an embarrassing CL exit followed by a shite performance in the FA Cup Final. I assumed things would get better this season but I was wrong, alas I don't see things changing or any inkling that we are moving in a positive direction under with Mourinho so yeah, I think he's done here. Blindly supporting him is strange.

Edit: I'm sure no Chelsea fans wanted him gone when he won the PL. But when the shit hit the fan the following season, they saw sense and most were happy when he was removed. Things change, things deteriorate and opinions form. Most however form over time like the majority have with Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho - The turd that wont flush.

After over 2 years the team is going backwards and we are not going to play any better. Jose wont change his ways and it his downfall.

I cannot see Jose turning this around. Better that he goes now while there is still a chance for a new manager to turn it around before we play Europa League next year.

I guess the ones who keep throwing out the same 'hysteria' etc clichés are the ones with little or argument to make and will keep repeating it in order to try demean other peoples opinions. Sigh.
There’s a cluster of 4/5 of them that have some of the weakest arguments, constantly move the goalposts, and ignore any refuting done on their points and are oblivious to the majority opinion on matters such as the quality of our football. We constantly hear crap like “go support a different team”, “our football is good”, “2nd place and Europa League”, “improvement” because that’s all they can muster - weak, head-in-the-sand arguments. It’s a waste of time talking to these people.

How any Utd fan can accept being out of the title race before October I just don't understand. We've spent a bucket load, he's had two seasons with us, its not like we've got tons of injuries either. There's no excuses for the tumescent filth we see each week.

If he was sacked in the summer the papers would have rightly been on our case for sacking a manager who finished second. I'm 100% confident of that.

I'm sure some of our fans would have loved it but that wouldnt reflect the footballing world.

It’s all Woodys fault mate. Because he didn’t go out and spend another £100 million on a centre half and winger, Alexis, Lukaku, Martial et all can’t play well together. Some players might not even be good enough to put on a show against Derby.

The Sevilla debacle and his lack of respect for the club after meant he was on borrowed time.

We've started a fresh season and the team look to be continuing along that Sevilla tie trend in terms of our approach, meaning Jose is happy to continue approaching games that way, an approach that our fans are rightly not happy with.

His attitude in the summer was also horrendously negative and brought a black cloud over the club which has, again, continued into the season. Its not hard to see why fans would want him gone.

Mourinho has made everything a grind. Look at Poch for example, not a single signing and hasn't been able to spend the same as Mou but he doesn't bleat on about it to the degree that the fan base are negged out. His negative attitude is not befitting our club and the fact that history seems to be repeating itself leads me to feel that wanting him gone is somewhat reasonable position to have.

In short many fans decided to have hope and glass half full mentality and believe that 2nd was progress and that he'd change his approach... He hasn't and we are not only poor to watch but results aren't there either.

Something needs to change and very fast.

Chelsea have a new coach, they are already playing good football and they seem to be in course of being in the top 4. Cater in the fact that they had managerial issue early in the season and it’s really impressive.

Then you have Sevilla, they look very good and they also have a new manager. The team is already clicking and it’s very easy to see the type of football the manager is implementing in the team. Imagine if it was us against that Real side, we would have been holding on for dear life the whole game.

I won’t talk about how boring we are to watch, but how is it possible that we are in our third season with Mourinho in charge and the team looks clueless, we don’t even have a stable first team and worse part the players that start most of our games are not even better than those who are in the bench.

We can’t keep forcing the situation hoping that one day it will click, by the time we get our act together we won’t only be chasing City but also Liverpool and most probably Chelsea as well.

I was hoping that Mourinho will be the manager who would take us back to the top, but it seems like that won’t happen. As a Manchester United fan I believe it’s time to cut ties with him.
