Television Top 10 sitcoms of all time?

In order as best I can:

The Thick Of It
The Office UK
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Peep Show
Saxondale
Bottom
Blackadder
I'm Alan Partridge
Fleabag
Men Behaving Badly

Seeing people list Two and a Half Men and Family Guy in this list makes it much easier to understand the football forum being in the state it is in.
...and now a (serious?) Mrs. Brown's Boys. And the Two Ronnies is apparently a sitcom.

Friends
Frasier
Modern Family
Fawlty Towers
The Simpsons
King of Queens
How I met your mother
South Park
Home Improvement (ie. Tim "the toolman" taylor)
Big Bang Theory

An honorable mention to Malcolm in the middle. An of course the old timer classics but they're getting a bit dated now to be in my top 10.

Ten sitcoms? In no order:

The Simpsons
Friends
Seinfeld
2.5 Men
The King of Queens
The Big Bang Theory
Everybody Loves Raymond
Malcolm In the Middle
Fresh Prince
That 70’s Show

Come at me, TV snobs.

I love Lucy
Three's company
Friends
Fawlty towers
Mr. Bean
Marblehead Manor
The Jamie Foxx show
Fresh prince of Bel air
Allo Allo
Different strokes

Ten is too little. Special mention to Good times, The Young ones, Are you being served, Some mothers do 'ave em, Martin, The Cosby show, Webster, Family Guy, Family ties, Punky Brewster, Saved by the bell, the wonder years and WKRP in Cincinnati

You had Allo Allo in the US?

I have a special affection for the show as I used to watch it with my granddad when I was a kid. As he was in WW2 he liked all the WW2 era stuff like Dad's Army, Allo Allo and Sgt Bilko.

Ones that need to be on the list - Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Fraiser, Curb your Enthusiasm, Father Ted, The Office and I'm Alan Partridge

Not in strict order

Only Fools and Horses
Fawlty Towers
I’m Alan Partridge
The Office (UK obviously)
Red Dwarf
Father Ted
Blackadder
The Inbetweeners (UK obviously)
Friends
The Big Bang Theory

How come you guys forgot Coupling

A wonderful wonderful show. Should be in the Top 10 list

In no particular order.

Malcolm in the Middle
The Simpsons
The Office
The Office UK
Friends
Two and a Half Men
Parks and Recreation
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Original Full House :nervous:
The Inbetweeners

Edit: Coupling as well. The list is 11 for me.

Really surprised Only Fools and Horses has only been listed once. That's my #1.

Think it has the best theme song for a TV show of all time too.

Fawlty Towers
The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin
Police Squad
I'm Alan Partridge
The Simpsons (1-6)
South Park
The Larry Saunders Show
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Bottom
Blackadder

I really don't like it! I've never got it.
I do appreciate it is loved, and it's not like Mrs. Brown's Boys which I find baffling and risible, but it's never connected with me or made me do anything other than occasionally smile. I've also come to hate the "fall through the bar" bit, but that's due to fecking clip shows.
Edit: Guess I'm just a plonker, Dave.

My top 10 would be
  • The Office
  • Friends
  • Arrested Development
  • Seinfeld
  • It's always sunny in Philadelphia
  • Parks and Rec
  • Curb your enthusiasm
  • That '70s show
  • The Simpsons
  • Scrubs
I haven't seen many of the old ones (90s and older). Anyone can come up with a better list? I have only included shows that have either ended or have had enough seasons to make up our mind about them.

EDIT: removed two and a half men from the list after some strong suggestions!

I hope that is the US Office

In no order;

Simpsons
Fresh Prince
Malcolm in the middle
In Living Color
My Wife & Kids
That 70s Show
Parks & Rec
The Office US
Modern Family
Friends

Special mentions:
Brooklyn 99, Martin, arrested development, girlfriends & living single

Based on what has been named in this thread being acceptable as a sitcom.

The Simpsons
Futurama
Always Sunny
I’m Alan Partridge
Office (UK)
Peep Show
The Thick of It
Arrested Development
Community

They are my favourite nine by far. I can’t think of a tenth up to the quality of those shows.

Seeing people list Two and a Half Men and Family Guy in this list makes it much easier to understand the football forum being in the state it is in.

My personal top ten (in no particular order):

1. Curb your Enthusiasm
2. Seinfeld
3. The Office
4. Only Fools and Horses
5. Blackadder
6. South Park
7. Always Sunny in Philadelphia
8. Parks and Recreation
9. The Thick of It
10. I'm Alan Partridge

Honourable mentions to: Fawlty Towers, Veep, Simpsons, People Just Do Nothing, Father Ted, Derry Girls, Peep Show, Brooklyn 9 9, The IT Crowd, Community, Nathan Barley, League of Gentlemen, and Nighty Night.

I love this show. How I met your mother is also extremely underrated - even if it had the worst ending of all time

Anyone who has seen Alan Partridge and didn’t list it has basically failed in life.
The only show that genuinely challenges Gervais for best ever.

Surprising to see no love for Phoenix nights.

Only fools and horses is a must list too.
Maybe for a certain age group though, I forced my wife to watch re-runs a few years ago and she never laughed once, so maybe hasn’t aged well.

Blackadder holds up really well. It feels like it shouldn't due to the ugly video it was shot on.

Yeah rewatched Blackadder recently. What an amazing series. Especially Black Adder goes fourth. Miles ahead of every comedy on TV right now.

In living color! Now that's a classic. Sketch comedy though, not a sitcom. Did you ever watch Hanging with Mr. Cooper?

I did! We had a channel that would show it over here after it ended in the US I think - I enjoyed it but I didn't love it, then again I was like 8/9 so I probably didn't get a lot of the jokes
Moesha is another good shout I forgot actually, so many good shows at that time

I've really grown to detest sitcoms with audience laughing (or recorded laughter) over the years, for some reason.

Now the only ones I can tolerate are the british classics like B.Adder and Fawlty Towers....and for some weird reason, I really like King of Queens.

things like Big bang theory and Friends just give me headache.

much prefer The Office/ Park and Rec style series.

Only Fools
Friends
Blackadder
IT Crowd
Fawlty Towers
Frasier
Silicon Valley
Office (UK and US)
Seinfeld
Mind Your Language. Mindlessly racist. :)

Came close: Big Bang Theory, Third Rock From the Sun, Cheers, Roseanne, that Bucket lady and Last of the Summer Wine.
