Was just watching a talkshow where a journalist said that Ajax still prefers a loan and Ziyech himself keeps insisting on a permanent deal so he (potentially) won't be stuck at Chelsea again next year.

Not sure why they wouldn't want to buy if the price is right since buying now is better for tax purposes, lowers the annual profit so no tax penalty. A loan with option/obligation to buy would move the transfer into the next fiscal year.

The only reason I could see for dragging it out this long is if Ajax has another option lined up that they hope to make a large profit on later like with Antony, because it can't be that they are doubting Ziyech's quality. Doubtful that it's being postponed until after the Antony deal is made public for some reason, people are Ziyech are saying a transfer isn't looking likely at this point.
From Ajax view, Ziyech will only diminish in value with his age.

That's one of the funniest things I have read in a long long time. " We then were forced to speak at the last minute with West Ham.”

Ajax & United, in that order
From Ajax view, Ziyech will only diminish in value with his age.
They did the same with the Blind and Tadic transfers, both of whom are visibly declining now.

Ajax buys prospects that can be sold on for large sums later and players that those prospects can learn from and offer them a more stable team to develop in, provide leadership both on and off the pitch.

Reportedly they're now looking at Lucas Ocampos for €20-25m, a player who has scored close to as many yellow cards during his career as he has goals ... Not exactly a leader, example or player to provide stability. Would keep the money rather than throwing it away like this :wenger:

Looks like Arsenal tried to butt their way into the Paredes chase (Tier 1):
Arsenal have made a strong bid in the last few hours for Paredes, but the player - as Galtier explained in conference - wants Juve: decisive hours for the Argentine midfielder's future

Tier 2:

This was first reported by Fabrizio Romano on wettfreunde yesterday. Romano's quotes:
One of the names I wanted to mention is (Mykhaylo) Mudryk from Shakhtar. He is one of the most interesting wingers on the market and many clubs from England, the Bundesliga and also Italy are interested in him because he was one of the players Juventus were chasing a few months ago.

And now there might be an opportunity, so let's see what Arsenal do with many of these players.
