I just don't ascribe to the idea we can't do anything because of the Glazers. May as well just have no nuance to any discussion about our structure.
The Glazers have been here since 2005. As soon as Fergie left, everything came crashing down and we've been a circus for the past decade. We've had several managers come and go, countless players pass through, and yet the top brass has been largely the same. Of course they are entirely to blame. They hire Woodward, Richard Arnold, promote the likes of Murtough etc. The tone and culture of the club starts with them and they set the direction. They don't have a fecking clue what they are doing.

Cunha affair.
  • United have taken notice of him.
  • Atleti, aware of the interest.
  • Representatives are working, there is NO official negotiation between clubs.
  • Atleti asking for much more than 50M.
  • Cunha clause >80M
  • The player, in love with Atlético.
  • Nothing advanced.
The nail in the coffin was when Jason Burt reported his belief that United are focusing on other targets, which makes Cunha's arrival unlikely.

I said, I know they are the genesis of the problems. That doesn't mean we can't talk about the actual strategy that's been employed in the window this time, with the people that are currently in charge of it.

Dest, despite his exclusion against Rayo, is adamant that he will not move, but there are still two weeks left on the market.
It kind of feels like Edu Polo's name-dropping United here, but the key point is that United themselves aren't really making a move for the full back as the player prefers to stay. There haven't been any talks with either the club or the player's camp.

Dest and Rabiot. Both not wanted by their club, both on the transfer list.

No scouting or game plan what so ever, we’re simply shopping for transfer listed players. Absolutely clueless.

Savage is the likelier of the two to be loaned out as Zidane Iqbal's ahead of him in the pecking order.

Scouted players would have been signed earlier. We’re in the panic stage now.

But the Glazers incompetence extends to appointing equally incompetent muppets to 'run' the club. You cannot escape their role in destroying the club at any level

Not that excited by Dest, but we're desperate now.

Strange thinking. If you have collaegues that are incompetent at their job and makes your life harder you want new, better collaegues right? Or you Will find new job. It’s the same here. They’re tired of shit players.
How is it strange thinking? Like other posters have quoted above have said its those same players that need replacing.

The most fecked up thing is that we are in one of the worst positions ever under the parasites Glazers and nothing is happening in the transfer market, its beyond mind boggling. They really dont give a flying feck that we lost like 8-10 players.

Looks like they dont care about us getting into UCL anymore either to keep getting that full Adidas money..

When you consider what's happening I think the reality is that the club doesn't have the money Arnold said was available at the pub. The lack of investment cannot be some "strategy" to not overpay because the club overpaid for Martinez.

And the Glazers gave themselves £33M in dividens this year when we are in dire need of upgrades, let that sink in.

Who was the right back who was very impressive for the Dutch in the most recent euros? Was it Dest?
That was Denzel Dumfries, who now plays for Inter. Chelsea are most interested in him, but since he's not for sale, they've focused on other options.

Dumfries I think. Dest wasn't starting for the Dutch in the Euros.

Edit: Just seen he's American. Would be weird if he started for the Dutch :D

Reminder: he's just a name on the shortlist. Just because someone's shortlisted doesn't mean that we'll make a move for them in the next couple of weeks.

Absolutely unreal that anybody can seriously hold this view.
Even if you don't believe all the stories about Joel G interfering directly in transfers (Martial, Thiago, Ronaldo etc.) - who do you think is responsible for the signings (lack of sales) we've made over the past 15 years, the contracts we've offered and renewed and so on? Even if you now believe it's entirely on Murtough/Arnold, who appointed them? Who gave Woodward power?
When we sold Ronaldo and lost Tevez and replaced them with the likes of Owen and Obertan and Fergie said there was no value in the market (when we should have been buying Silva and Aguero for £30m who would have given us a decade of top level footy), who was responsible for that?
Who has allowed yet another new manager to start the season for a squad that's not fit for purpose?
Who - despite promises over the past few years - has still not appointed a genuine Director of Football?
They are 100% responsible for the transfer mess.

Someone give this comment a like!

Caicedo haha, this can’t be true. The club has to be the biggest joke in world football and is absolutely determined to keep the title!

This must be true as it sounds like the kind of move we'd make.

Independiente del Valle ''Do you want Caicedo for 5M?''
United ''Naw, sell him to Brighton and we'll pay them 60M after he looks like a god playing against McFred''

I can’t decide who’s worse, the people who report crap links, or the people who believe them?

I'm sure Fergie said someone similar about Liverpools player recruitment strategy about 15 years ago. Rather than identifying targets they actually wanted they had a process of bidding for players who had a decent game against them.

I guess the Agents are going mad trying to get some action for their players after the links of the last couple of weeks.

Fecking shortlists, considering, observing, preparing... blah blah blah.
We're considering pretty much every attacking player and every midfielder going who doesn't actually look likely to move anywhere.

We're conveniently uninterested in any players who are actually available though.

This. For some reason, United aren't closing the door on any of them even if ten Hag may not approve of the signings. We'd probably be better off dismissing many of these agents rather than entertaining their offers.
