Eamonn Holmes is actively seeking to tell people, so that he can shoot them. He's basically a flesh hunter and wants human meat to feast.

The only reason for us to delay an announcement is if we're after managers already at clubs. I just think if Van Gaal was our first choice, it'd be pretty much confirmed by now.

Considering that all 4 coaches remaining in the champions league are on our wish list, we might just be banking on the chance that atleast 1/4 will become available.

Hmm, The romantic in me hopes it was a tip off from Wes and John that peaked our interest.

Even if one of Rooney/RvP left we wouldn't need another striker, we would still have many many strikers/attacking mids/wingers available and it is already hard enough to fit them all in.

Should only be going for a striker of Cavani's quality if both Rooney and Van Persie are leaving, which is impossible. Won't believe these rumours.

Moyes was sacked two days ago. Do you really think after the first attempt at replacing SAF went so badly we will rush into an appointment like that? We have four meaningless games left this season. There is no advantage in appointing Van Gaal, or anybody else for that matter, in the next couple of days. They won't become manager until next season regardless so we might as well take our time and weigh up all the options. It would make sense to wait until the end of the season in case the likes of Ancelotti became available in the mean time.

What's this fella like?
It'll be a trial that allows our players to go out on loan and not leave the U21's depleted. Realistically, I don't think we'll sign him, it's like the Schlupp deal last year.

Here's a question. I know swap deals are rare but would you take a Rooney - Cavani straight swap if offered?

The Cavani things makes no sense at all. He is complaining about playing out wide and in a 4-4-2, does he think that he will be getting ahead of Rooney and RVP as king striker?

Very odd.

None of our lads will be going out on loan at this point.
No, but we've loaned out both Thorpe and Keane and have been playing a defensive midfielder, Ekangamene, as a centre back. We do need the numbers, even if it's just for depth.

If LVG is our next manager, RVP would more likely stay and Rooney just signed a contract extension. Strange Cavani links..

This. Van Persie will definitely be here next season if Van Gaal gets the job. Can't see Rooney leaving either. Even if both Welbeck and Hernandez leave we have Wilson coming through and Van Gaal only tends to play one striker in any case. I just hope we aren't targeting Cavani as some sort of marquee signing, especially as he will cost £50+ million. I would much rather we put the money towards players like Kroos or Pogba who we actually badly need.

Is there any recent tweets from our players? I am secretly pleased if none of them have not mentioned about the sack. Just not worthy of any more media speculation to create controversy. Plus, maybe they are forbidden to post anything related to it, so as to allow exclusive MUTV coverage etc. :)

Thing is he won't fit in a van Gaal system if he were to be coming here. If he was to fit in then he would be playing right wide, one of the main reasons he supposedly wants to leave. It's a really bemusing transfer and one I would have been happier wuth 2 years ago rather than now.

You will probably be able to watch some of these challenges tomorrow on MUTV:
