Ole as a DoF and you'll find him smiling and telling the sellers & buyers "It's okay if no deal this time, just enjoy your job as a negotiator".
He does, but he’s not being mentioned here much.He has Leipzig sitting 2 pts clear at the top of the league and has qualified for the last 32 in the Champions League.
Most want Poch it seems. He does, but he’s not being mentioned here much.
And don't forget the participation trophies on your way out of the negotiation room. Haha!!! Jokes apart I would not want Ole anywhere near our brains trust when his time at Utd is up.Ole as a DoF and you'll find him smiling and telling the sellers & buyers "It's okay if no deal this time, just enjoy your job as a negotiator".
Strange as JN seems one to genuinely watch. Most want Poch it seems.
Misinterpreted my post, but never mind.Pretty sure Klopp was being called flavor of the month at 1 point too.
Turned out okay.
Yeah I just got what you meant.Misinterpreted my post, but never mind.
I'm pretty much with you in that I'm not completely sold on Poch either.Yeah I just got what you meant.
Most on here I think prefer Poch.
I'm not 100% sold on him and would prefer we went another option.
Standards are now rock bottom.I was hoping the Ole as DOF idea has died, but nope here it is.
It is honestly so blasphemous to me.
He fails as the manager, but let's promote him and have him oversee our next manager.
Ridiculous.
Carrick, Southgate, Luis Enrique
Ambassador is a good idea. Making him DOF is something I'll never understand as having a manager who has just been sacked overseeing his successor isn't a great idea. Plus I think the DOF role is more than just finding players to sign, getting those deals over the line is part of the job too I believe.1. Can't we find some cushy non-job to move Ole to? Make him the Director of something or other. Club ambassador maybe? It would be nice if we could find a reasonably dignified way to move him on. After all, I don't blame him for taking a job we all should of known he couldn't do.
2. Poch is our man. He went into a disorganised rabble and gave them an identity, implemented a good style of football and nurtured promising young players. Exactly what we need right now. I feel like we should keep Ole until the end of season because is the F**king point in getting rid now so we can appoint a caretaker and then restart to whole saga. At the end of the season- if we're not in the CL- get rid of Ole and move heaven and earth to bring in Poch. End of.
If we're going to bring someone in it needs to be now, not the end of the season.1. Can't we find some cushy non-job to move Ole to? Make him the Director of something or other. I'd be open to giving Ole a lot more time, but if the club are actually plotting to replace him in the summer, it's stupidity to wait until then when they could do it now.Tweet

How reliable is Pedulla?
Would much rather this be the case than the bollocks from Neil Custis earlier about the club claiming Ole is currently under no pressure at the moment and they would be open to giving him a lot more time
Depends if the no-compete clause form his sacking is true or not.I'd be open to giving Ole a lot more time, but if the club are actually plotting to replace him in the summer, it's stupidity to wait until then when they could do it now.
I completely see Poch coming in with Ole moving upstairs as an intermediary between Woodward and the Manager. Wouldn't be the worst idea as Ole seems to be able to identify the right players moving forward, in terms of young, hungry and passionate.Tweet

This is absolutely essential. Not just clout though. While Woodward is calling the shots, the manager needs tact also. A repeat of Jose will get us nowhere. We need
a) a manager with a vision, a plan, some semblance of a notion of how to manage player fitness and the squad in general.
b) a manager who has enough clout to make certain demands of those in power and get the players in that are needed to improve the quality of the first team.
Yeah, you’re right, clout was a bad choice of word. I meant enough reputation to garner the respect required to make demands and have the board want to placate him. This is absolutely essential. Not just clout though. While Woodward is calling the shots, the manager needs tact also. A repeat of Jose will get us nowhere.
Ideally the manager would be able to bring Woodward into line while making the latter believe he’s still in charge.
I really don't see Poch being this person; he seems too emotional. Allegri maybe? He had Berlusconi to contend with after all.
Why are we waiting for him to fail. He’s already failed.Paul Hirst: If Solskjaer fails to deliver after a number of new signings are made, United will look to appoint a new manager. Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in November, would feature on their shortlist, as could Gareth Southgate, who is presently in charge of England. Julian Nagelsmann of RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel are admired by members of the United hierarchy too.

I seriously hope we stay away from Southgate. Nagelsmann would be my first choice.
Ancelotti should have been Fergie’s successor. Perfect three year bridge to the future. You know Everton is coached by Carlo Ancelotti now?
We need him to fail over three years just to be certain. Why are we waiting for him to fail. He’s already failed.
Southgate would be a fool to give up the England gig. England has a good crop of players and United are a mess.fecking hell imagine Southgate next. I feel sick just thinking about it. The meltdown on here would be epic though.
Cannot believe a retread manager from the Dippers is on there as if that would ever happen but they don't even have Nuno listed. I know Poch is the obvious name and Nagelsman is sexy now that Klopp has made German managers the flavor of the month but what Nuno has done at Wolves in the last 3 years is seriously impressive. He is tactically astute, develops his players, demands high standards and is passionate about his work. I wouldn't look at anyone else unless he gave me a firm no.
Sounds like it is going to be a very long time until we are talking about Utd's next manager. The only way that Ole gets sacked is if this briefed rebuild with "his players" doesn't work out.Paul Hirst: If Solskjaer fails to deliver after a number of new signings are made, United will look to appoint a new manager. Massive massive yes to this man, his work from Hoffenheim was nothing short of sensational even from a young age that he started from. He's continued his work at Leipzig and I think this season they will win the Bundesliga, his style of football is so modernized. Basically he's the next Jurgen Klopp, my fear is that Liverpool will take him even Klopp leaves and feck me If that happens we are fecked.....Paul Hirst: If Solskjaer fails to deliver after a number of new signings are made, United will look to appoint a new manager. This is the problem..I don't like these full control on transfers talks, we did that with all our previous managers and they wasted the clubs money by making sideway moves just because they wanted their guys.
I think Joel or Avram are gonna make the decision for the board come the end of the season.Sounds like it is going to be a very long time until we are talking about Utd's next manager. The only way that Ole gets sacked is if this briefed rebuild with "his players" doesn't work out.
By that time you will probably find that the talented coaches like Poch, Nagelsmann, Ten Haag will have gone elsewhere.
