I still absolutely love Modern Vampires Of The City. Might be one of my favourite albums ever.

Gorgeous album. Would have to think very hard to come up with any better from the last five years.

Unbearably White is a great song. Looking forward to the new album. I've enjoyed what they've released so far.

Video for Sunflower is crap though, makes me feel ill.

 "Unbearably white". At least they're self-aware enough to joke about themselves. Gone up in my estimation.

Looking forward to this new album. MVOTC is one of the best releases of the last ten years IMO

First impression is that it's a lot messier than their previous albums.

I like a lot about Modern Vampires of the City except for all the stupid voice modulation effects they used. Really detracts from songs like Ya Hey and Step. I also didn't like the weird monologues in Finger back and Ya Hey (again).

That's great news. :)

Love all their albums, and was relieved that the last one - Father of the Bride - was very good despite the huge loss of Rostam.

Yeah I like the two songs on first listen. Need to try not to overplay them before the album comes out.

Love the new album. :)

Capricorn, Prep-School Gangsters and Hope are my favourites, but so many great new tracks to enjoy.

Yeah loving it on first listen. I’d initially put it below MVotC but it’s definitely one of their best.

Still obsessed with this.

Mary Boone is an absolutely gorgeous song. I can't stop listening to it. Classical is just so earwormy too, the piano on Connect is amazing, The Surfer is a brilliant grower.

It's a no skips album for me. So good.

Yeah, fantastic album. :)

As you say, there's none that I skip. Probably Connect and Pravda are my least favourite, but they're still good.

Can't get enough of listening to Capricorn, Hope, Prep-School Gangsters, Gen-X Cops, Mary Boone, Classical, Ice Cream Piano, The Surfer - probably in that order of preference.

Really loving it so far - much better than Father of the Bride, and fully up to the standards of the first three albums. It sort of just picks up where MVOTC left off - also in the sense of being almost without weak tracks. If I have to pick favorites, it's probably Classical and Ice Cream Piano.

The only track that's putting me off is Hope. Can't stand those Kumbaya harmonics.

Yeah I don't really skip it but it is the weakest for me too. It goes on a bit too long.

I absolutely love 'Hope'! Definitely one of my favourites on the album. I think the weakest are Connect and Pravda. But I don't skip those either.

I think Capricorn, Hope and Prep-School Gangsters are probably my top 3 at this stage. Though I do also love Classical, Mary Boone, Gen-X Cops, Ice Cream Piano.

Such a great album!

Yeah agreed there. Modern Vampires is an absolute cracker. Hard to top Hannah Hunt.
I love MVotC as well - though I'd say Hannah Hunt is one of my least favourites on it. Much prefer the likes of Unbelievers, Obvious Bicycle, Step, Everlasting Arms, Worship You...

Vampire Weekend plus girls name = great song usually

My top two from the album are still Mary Boone and Classical I think. Followed by Ice Cream Piano, Connect and The Surfer. Might be because Capricorn and Gen-X Cops were the only singles I listened to but I feel I’ve overplayed those now.
