I couldn't see this thread, so i figured I'd make it.

Anybody expect anything from this? First pre match press conference since the one he walked out on.

He'll say... "the fans still support me because Old Trafford will be full against Swansea. It's all about the process and philosophy but the players have to understand and follow it. We have the best defence in the league and best possession and just need to put away our chances but I am happy if we create two or three in this game. Wayne Rooney will start because when I left him out we did not win so it does not make a big difference. I have spoken with the board and they are happy with how things are going so no need for me to resign......blah, blah, blah!"

He's gonna stick it to the media after the great performance against chelsea.
Probably. 'Did you see my players? They believe, so I will stay'. Some nonsense like that.

The only question any journo should ask is just what kind of dirt does LVG have on Woodward.

What will happen is he'll criticize the media who will sit there and take it all, then print some abusive shite on the back page tomorrow.

I bet he'll say something that'll cause a massive argument in this thread that goes on for 10 pages.

1) Job Security.. yawn.. and reply will be just as meh
2) Injuries...a little intereting
3) Transfers... interesting for the fans..but van Gaal will have none of that.
and then the press officer will say "One last question" and then a monologue from van gaal which may or may not be related to the question asked....

You missed the part where all the journos are going "LEWIE!... L-LEWIE!" as they fight like seagulls scrapping over dropped chips, just so they get the opportunity to ask a cnutish question.

THE MANAGER'S PRESS CONFERENCE
Van Gaal has finished his press conference at the Aon Training Complex and here are some of the main points...

VAN GAAL ON UNITED'S DISPLAY V CHELSEA
"We've had many games like that. The way we've played this season, we're more or less always the dominant team. The way we played, under that pressure and in the style we want to play, was fantastic."

VAN GAAL ON UNITED’S FANS
“I have had bad periods at all my clubs and I have to say the best fans are here at Manchester United because in such a difficult period they were applauding about the performance of the players and that's fantastic.”

VAN GAAL REFLECTS ON 2015
"We have fulfilled the wish and our aim in the first season that ended halfway through 2015. After that we have managed to give balance to the team and that resulted in October and November in us being first in the Premier League. Then we are out of the Champions League and that gives us a big blow, and we are still in that period, so when you don't assess December, it was a very good year."

VAN GAAL ON HOW TO BEAT SWANSEA
"It's always the same. You make a game plan to beat your opponent. We have lost three times to Swansea but then you have to analyse why you have lost. It's always like that. And then you continue with the same vicious circle of working. It's not any magic. It's looking to what has happened and what you can improve as a team but also as an individual player."

A 0-0 draw at home with 2 shots on target against a shit team is a "fantastic performance".

I know the standards have been slipping, but Jesus Christ...

Am I the only one who thinks we weren't THAT good against Chelsea? We played well in the first half but the second half wasn't all that.

Besides this is a Chelsea team in 14th, 3 points above relegation.

"So when you don't assess December...."

This guy has had some of you eating out of his palm since he got here. How daft do you now feel?
But he did say it doesn't matter because a year has 12 months and it's the situation now that matters.
Don't try to make him an idiot on purpose.

He literally said a bunch of words without actually saying anything.

2015 vintage year. Scored 51 goals in the league. Got knocked out of FA cup at home to Arsenal. Had more nil nils than I can remember. Absolutely shagged our CL group. Wow could you imagine what he thinks is a bad year.

Personally I feel alright, I was never contractual bound, I have always been free to judge him on his actual job and he lost my support because of it.

So he's satisfied with us being the dominant team despite us only picking up a single point in about 5 matches or so? Jesus wept.

If you don't assess December, and then don't assess the period between, say, August and December, it's actually been one of our greatest ever seasons. Potentially, that is. Theory is good. Practice not so good, but we shall ignore that for the time being as it clearly isn't part of the process.

Do you want him to actually describe the game plan? Don't get me wrong it probably has something to do with possession and defensive solidarity but I'm sure there is more nuance than that. No manager gives in depth explanations of their tactics prior to a game. There are plenty of things to criticize him for but this is an odd one.
