Victor Osimhen

Osimhen for £62m is a good deal, but only if he would be willing to match our wage proposals.

That's gonna be the tricky bit, well along with trying to convince him when we miss out on Europe

Should still go all in for him, if we can't get the deal done then focus on Delap would be my approach

I'd actually focus on midfield and try and get Sesko for a reasonable fee.

Seeing this thread active is laughable. The club is in disarray and some think we should throw £60m plus £200k+ wages at this lad

Awful first touch. He has a great phisique, but in PL if you have only the physique isn't enough: Osimhen is a flop announced.

I’d imagine that it would be contingent on selling Sancho, Rashford and possibly one of our young stars for decent money.

By comparison, Lukaku had a pretty decent career in the PL. Hell he’d probably do a decent job up front for us right now. Not saying we go for Lukaku though.

Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood (huge sell on fee there) would easily clear up the funds. Erikssen and Lindelof wages help too.

Sesko feels like another prospect whereas feel we need to sign someone in that mid 20's range

Well he's what, 26 years old, having a great season and will go for a relatively big fee.

His next move will probably be his biggest contract yet - he's on around £100k now so he's going to want a lot more than that.

We are broke and were also moving away from giving big money out to players, especially those over 25.
Is he having a great season? He's 1 in 2 without penalties and scoring at a worse rate than legends like Piatek and En-Nesyri in the Turkish league.

we need to stop giving the massive wages to players and make them earn the ability for increases based on performances

Did anyone say we would be giving him massive wages?

I appreciate this thread, but United under the Glazers is the football equivalent of the Titanic inches away from the iceberg. We are not going save the club by buying galacticos.

Yeah the reality is he's way out of our league both in a transfer fee and wages sense which is pretty gutting

I agree, but the funny thing is I think the odds are high he's not a good transfer anyway. Shows some inconsistency, injury issues, wants massive wages, not super young....

This isn't really a purchase a team building for the long term should make. It's the kind a teenager does in FIFA, but most successful clubs are buying younger players these days.

I just want to see us add someone more experienced, also 26 isn't old by any means and isn't 27 until the end of the year. You do make valid points about the wages though, his only real big injury was that cheekbone one I think.

Oh what’s this, in desperate need of a proper backup and starter in a position, panic and over pay move on deck!

OK so what should we do about striker situation then because potential young ones aren't working

I believe he is currently earning less than £200k a week. We could give him a slight increase, but nothing too dramatic.
I don't think we want to be paying that much though. We need to shift first and replace players so I expect cheap young options.

well just a general statement but u know this player is going to want massive wages

So everyone keeps saying, I don't think its even remotely true, same thing was said about De Ligt

didn't he or his agent demand a high wage from chelsea?

Depends who you believe, it was also reported they agreed personal terms but Chelsea couldn't afford the fee with Napoli and wanted a loan (which his agent refused)

Another report says Chelsea offered less than half his current Napoli wage and he refused, neither report seems to suggest asking from crazy wages

Didn't exactly work with Rasmus did it, will be annoyed if the permanent answer is David just because he is free agent in the summer.

Fairly sure Osimhen will be our first choice and we'll offer him a competitive wage. If that isn't good enough, then yeah, it will be someone like Delap.

I’d have thought Gyokeres would be our first choice. Affordable. About 60/65m would do it. Obviously no CL might hinder our chances
