Not surprised about this. He really seemed to hate being here and was in for the money from the start.

He definitely was a mercenary but its crazy how a so called professional had such a weak mentality despite being one of the highest paid players on the world.

Him getting rattled on the training pitch by a teenaged Greenwood makes all the more sense in hindsight.

Arsenal was set up to support Sanchez (and Ozil), in tactics, in setup, on players composition. We didn't. We expect Sanchez to plug and play. Someone made a big mistake in evaluation of players adaptability to our tactics . Veron, Mahit, Kagawa were similar error, but they weren't not as expensive, didn't caused so much problem in dressing room, or could be offload with relatively little cost.

Sounds like he’s blaming everyone else except himself. His very first sentence was ‘I thought I had a contract with City’. That tells you all you need to know. Under Mourinho and especially VG we went through signing a real bad bunch of players who wasn't suited here/good enough/just after a big payday. You can have a toss up with ADM and Sanchez, but due to the sheer cost and how long he was here, Sanchez wins it easily for me. Thank goodness we have a manager who is doing due diligence in bringing in players and is working great for the club.

reckon his attitude didn’t go down too well with the squad, plus the money was on. They might’ve expected a bit more from him than they got and when it wasn’t forthcoming, they made it known he had a bit of work to do. I wonder how much the players supported him on the pitch, tbh. I'm sad about people mentioning Veron. He was a marquee signing in a different time in United's history. Getting a world class player from Serie A at that time was a major statement.

Veron's problem is that he was before his time at United. It's completely Fergie and the team's fault rather than Veron. United were still haunted by the success of the 4-4-2 (greatest midfield in history™) and how Madrid dismantled it in 2000.

Veron in a 3 man midfield would have been pure poetry. Alas Seba was the right player at the wrong time.

To be fair on Falcao he was good after he left us, he was no where near ready for first team football in the PL after that knee injury. He should have gone somewhere else for a season and I think he would have been decent for us. He certainly tried his upmost anyway

I listened to a podcast a while ago with an ex pro basically saying Keane ended Veron’s United career. Veron was too scared to stand up to him and fight for a spot in the team which ultimately cost him.
