Scandinavian/Finnish design is big in Uruguay, eh?
Nah, Stora Enso is big in Uruguay.

I bought a centrepiece in Helsinki a few years ago and some expats noticed I had one piece from a big set from some chap called Tappio something (famous or bull?). It made wedding presents easy to work out.

A mate is a Viking fan (Bjarnason's team in Norway), and he has no love for Birkir. The player apparently decided he to stop playing for Viking the last season there. He didn't move an inch and gave the ball away (to a team mate) as soon as he got it to avoid getting injured, so that he could stay fit for the U21 EC (?) and get a move. So Bjarnason is obviously a massice twat, but my mate is probably as pissed off at the ex-coach Åge Hareide who didn't have the backbone to handle it properly.

That being said, I've no idea why you think BB was MOTM. Not that I've any better suggestions. I also didn't think Gylfi stood out at all. But then I'm not sure if any of the players on either side of the pitch should feel that they did well today.

Thule is also an old word for Iceland. It's an Icelandic beer as well.
Yep, that's why that word stuck and not the other one

Something Thule, I'm sure the first word is piss-easy, but the second one is a beer ;)

Pretty much everything we did in attack somewhat went through him. He was also very good at helping out at the defensive aspect of the game.

He probably has no love for him because Birkir wanted to leave and Viking didn't want to let him go. Typical for fans to think that way. Had you asked his opinion of him a year earlier it would have been different.

He had over 100 games in the league at age 23. Of course you're going to want to move on when the offers come in. Don't see the fuss myself. Norwegian teams have done it for many many years. Pick up Icelandic players dirt cheap and sell them on for well over 100% profit.

Those U21 games were the biggest games in our countries history. Never gotten into the EC at that level before. Had to beat teams like Germany and Scotland to get there.

I don't think you're right about that. All fans of Norwegian teams are well aware of the fact that players want to leave for bigger leagues. He has no grief for Berisha who just went to the feckin' Austrian league for example, and Lillestrøm fans don't mind Sigurðarson going to Wolves, another great Icelandic prospect. It's all about the way Bjarnason carried himself.

Whambam, two more goals early 2nd half. We are fecked.

Colombia's keeper should have seen red for doing a Pagliuca there, but we deserve nothing from this game.

Rodriguez-Falcao-Gutierrez looks like a real handful of a frontline, one to watch in qualifiers and WC.

Good win for England. But anyone underwhelmed by seeing Gerrard, Lampard and Terry still starting?

A bit meh.

If Bolt really can play a bit of football surely he could get a cap for this team.

I can remember when a few of the Jamaican's actually played at decent pro clubs. It seems the current lot are amateurs with a few pros sprinkled at low level clubs.

 Terrible wall defending. Confused the keeper as well. Might have been a deflection as Howard looked shocked.

1-1

Update: Upon replay, not really bad defending just a low hit that deflected off Beckerman's foot (same guy that conceded the free kick; Beckerman is crap btw) and Howard had committed the other way and was unable to make the save.

I think that Switzerland will qualify while for the second spot will fight Slovenia, Albania and both Scandinavian teams. Cyprus IMO has no chance.

The most interesting game will be Albania vs Switzerland. There is quite a chance that 5 Albanians (Xhaka, Behrani, Dzemaili, Mehmedi and Shaqiri) will play for Switzerland so this will be an unique case.
Albania's third was a peach. Goal of the week for me

Actually:

Dwayne Miller of Syrianska in Sweden is expected to tend goal, with Adrian Mariappa (Reading), Nyron Nosworthy (Watford) and Taylor (Houston Dynamo) forming the defensive wall in front.
The midfield could comprise Jason Morrison (Aalesund), Rodolph Austin (Leeds), Lovell Palmer (Portland Timbers) and Je-Vaughn Watson (Houston Dynamo), with Luton Shelton (Karabukspor), Ryan Johnson (Toronto) and Kavin Bryan (Vicem Hai Phong) forming the front line responsible for beating Howard in the American goal.

Majority of the starting XI from MLS and Championship with 2 of the 3 subs also in the MLS and the other a local player.

Could also potentially have Raheem Sterling. Born here but unlike during John Barnes' time we're now regular contenders in WCQ.

Could also have saved England having Ashley Young stink up the Euros. Made noises about playing for Jamaica when he was at Watford. Joined in on a training camp when the team was in England before a friendly. Him and another guy. Can't remember who that was.

Lloyd Doyley, Marlon King, Adrian Mariappa, Joel Grant, Francino Francis and Lee Williamson could have been that player.

Iceland can, for the first time in their history, win their first two qualifying games (be it WC or WC).

Hehe. Fifa are making the captains read from a piece of paper before the game about sportsmanship and what not. Porn actors have better delivery than footballers.

Leveins master plan is to drop arguably 3 of Scotland's best players in Adam, Naismith and Snodgrass.

Panama hooligans setting off fireworks outside of Canada's hotel. Gonna be a tough game. I'm hoping for a draw.

England: Hart; Johnson, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines; Milner, Gerrard, Lampard, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Cleverley; Defoe.

Most boring England side ever?
