The assassination of Maude Flanders
The episode where Homer becomes an inventor is on C4 right now. Nowhere near the level of the Softball episode but still good.
Decided to start watching from season 1 last week, but it's a struggle. Most of the episodes are crap and the characters are very different, Homer in particular. He actually sells the TV in one episode for crying out loud. I do want to get through the 1st season however, as it would feel like cheating to skip until the good episodes. Still, there are some episodes I haven't even been able to watch in one go, and one of those was when I was on a train doing nothing, so yeah.
Yeah, characters and faces are really weird in first season.
Yeah and black Smithers
That episode where Homer pawns the TV is a really weird one in retrospect. Homer's the sane one and feels embarrassed by his family, Marge's a drunk and Lisa's a brat.
There's also the one where Homer tries to commit suicide. Black Smithers makes an appearance.
phil hartman's wife has a lot to answer for, not least the fact we've been without troy mcclure and and lionel hutz since 1997 or so.
