Seeing Willy Mason this evening. I've not listened to much from him since his brilliantly titled debut album "Where the Humans Eat" but absolutely loved it. I like what I've heard of the newer stuff but to be honest am just v excited to sing along to Oxygen.

Went to Muse in Rome on Tuesday night. It was the hottest day in Rome since Pompeii had an incident. It was a great show, and they were brilliant as well.

But Royal Blood were warming up, and I haven't stopped listening to them since. They were absolutely fantastic. Played an entire hour all killer no filler. If you have a chance to see them. Go!

Just got tickets to the Make Up at Gorilla in Manchester. Been listening to them for 20 years or more, but didn't think I'd ever get chance to see them live, as they perform so rarely.

I'm looking at a few gigs in Manchester for this year and early next. Will likely purchase some tickets tomorrow/over the weekend now the bills are all out

WSTR @ Night & Day Cafe, 14th Sep
Kids in Glass Houses @ Ritz, 16th Oct
Holding Absence @ Ritz, 22nd Nov
Simple Plan, Mayday Parade, State Champs @ Victoria Warehouse, 9th Feb

I've seen all of those bands live before, but only State Champs & Holding Absence were in the last couple of years. I was probably not even 20 when I saw the others...

I'm also debating going to see The Wonder Years in November and Bowling for Soup w/ Less Than Jake in February. I'll probably buy tickets closer to the time if they're still available - interested to see who would be supporting TWY.

Saw an advert pop up yesterday that Queens of the Stone Age had announced a new date on their tour for Bournemouth. Couldn't believe it. I tried getting tickets for Birmingham but the dates just didn't work because of work. The timings would mean I'd spend more time travelling to the gig than at the gig itself. I was gutted, but scrapped the idea and came to terms with it. Then, this happened! Presale was today and managed to get tickets! So excited.

Off to Bloodstock tomorrow, been once before and had a great time. Definitely a smaller, more chilled out version of Download where we get to have some more downtime which is great when we already did DL earlier in the summer.

Saw Blur at a local festival near me last night. Was absolutely brilliant. Fantastic front man, all the hits, musically very good.

Queens Of The Stone Age - Bournemouth BIC
I spent too long trying to decide which of the initial gigs to go to and missed out on the standing tickets. I did wonder if another night would be announced and I'm quite happy it's this venue.

Saw Muse last night in Dublin. Absolutely cracking show.

Anyone else catching them soon? I think they have some UK dates over next few weeks

Yes mate, I saw them in Huddersfield a couple of months back and am going again on Sunday to the O2. Can’t wait.

This current album and tour is brilliant.

I’m gutted that the gig season is over at the Piece Hall in Halifax. Last gig there Jonny Marr and The Charlatans. An absolute scorcher. For me, The Only One I Know could be the best indie track of all time. So chuffed to have seen it live. So now got a couple of DJ gigs to go to. Graham Park next week, looking forward to that.

Saw the London African Gospel Choir in Dublin last night, they did Paul Simon’s Graceland along with some of their own stuff. Really energetic, talented group.

I briefly contemplated going to see Morrissey but his shows have sold out now anyway.

Saw Queens of the Stone Age recently, pretty good show, though I don't know all their stuff. The crowd seemed to know all the songs. Viagra Boys were fun opening was well.

Sum 41 and BFS are doing a gig the night before the big festival in Vegas in a few weeks.

Lead singer of Sum 41 has some serious health issues so was maybe looking like it was gonna be cancelled and they wouldn't be at the festival either. Would've been shit not to see them but rather he's alright.

Blink the week before I go in Birmingham and the new songs have me just in a countdown now, I can't wait.

At the O2 for Blink. It always makes me laugh wondering if they look down at the average age of the crowd and it makes them feel old when they see all the baldness
Me too! Have a good one.

Royal Blood next week. Can’t wait. I was meant to see them support Muse in the summer but opted for Queens of the Stoneage who were playing on the same night instead.

Gig was great, fecking awful venue though. Ridiculous lack of planning and links.

But I was pleasantly surprised by them.

Hope you had a great time mate!
I've seen them three times now and tonight was definitely the best. It's probably the best gig I've been to this year too.

What was that cattle pen queuing system all about?! You got told to wait there and then several security guards escort you to the main queue, it was so bizarre . I've been to The O2 loads of times and never seen them use that system before.
