Officially the best poker player on RAWK.
I've seen them three times now and tonight was definitely the best. It's probably the best gig I've been to this year too.

What was that cattle pen queuing system all about?! You got told to wait there and then several security guards escort you to the main queue, it was so bizarre . I've been to The O2 loads of times and never seen them use that system before.
Nope. And then making us all walk down the end to one exit too, fecking shambolic. Not to mention the kettling attempt by the station.

It's a fecking awful venue for anything, it's not made for this kind of thing and is actually a danger. But of course, it's not a problem until it is.

I do have a deeper appreciation for Blink now though. They come together and create something well above themselves, it was impressive and a lot of fun! (Even Tom's political/alien shite that gets a few jokes/songs). I enjoyed that, especially the last few songs down the front when we decided to feck off the no moshing rule and had a bit of a bump. Good night all in all.

Was an Arctic Monkeys last night. Good show in fairness. Tickets were very expensive and out of spite decided not to pay extra for standing. Absolutely regretted that decision. First time ive sat at a show in years and it really does take away from it

Smashing Pumpkins with Weezer next year. Absolutely cannot wait for that. I’ve never seen Pumpkins live (seen Weezer though and they always put on a good show)

Also Liam Gallagher doing Definitely Maybe gigs next year too. Will probably go to that too

Still have Chemical Brothers, QOTSA and Ocean Colour Scene to go to round out this year

Lloyd Cole is playing up the road soon. His new album plus oldies. Anyone seen him recently?

Can't wait to refresh the ticket page wildly all morning on Friday only to brutally discover that tickets sold out at 9:03am.

In the last few days I've been to see Blink 182, Lingua Ignota and Funeral for a Friend. I really enjoyed all of them.

Went to blink-182 on Sunday and Kids in Glass Houses on Monday, both were excellent.

Debating getting a last minute ticket for Finch next month if there's any left at the end of this month. Also debating The Used in December, I really like one of the support bands - The Home Team - as well.

Any joy with LG? I failed both Wednesday and Friday.

We are now considering hospitality options...

I think my major obstacle was focusing on the Manchester gigs...

They even announced an extra night there on Friday morning and I was still an hour late

Finally got tickets to see Underworld the day after my birthday next year. One of my all time favourite groups, just annoyingly never had the opportunity to go.

Went to see Queens Of The Stone Age in Bournemouth last night with my wife. We're both huge fans. Saw them play at Pukkelpop in 2010 and they were fantastic. Didn't really get another opportunity to see them again until now. Loving the new album and have played it to death.

I've been to the BIC (Bournemouth International Centre) a few times before. I think the last time was for Christine and the Queens, which was a different sort of gig, but still fun. The place was rammed last night, to the point where I'm very, very curious to know what the attendance was. During the second support act, we left a little early to get to the toilets and get the drinks ready before QOTSA came on stage, and the place was already rammed, with tons already queuing for drinks, the loos, or just congregating outside the hall talking or milling around.

Band came on and kicked off with No One Knows, which was an incredible opener. Unfortunately, someone in the crowd behind us threw a plastic beer cup (one of the huge ones, heavily weighed down with beer) into the air which ended up hitting my wife on the head. She's got a lump on her head which came up pretty much immediately and it's taken skin off her nose, too. Had a kind member of the crowd check up on her. But, that instantly put a downer on things. I've got to say that there was a ton of other cups being thrown around throughout the night.

I can appreciate it's a huge band to come to Bournemouth, and there aren't that many acts of this tier that come this way, but the crowd was shit yesterday. You get the odd person who is a bit of a lunatic, but (combined with it being rammed) there were people being knocked/barged all over the place. Added to that, the sheer amount of 'wanderers' who barge past/walk in front of you or behind you (nudging you) to get to a specific area in the venue is really, really fecking annoying. This has really gotten worse post-Covid. I can't remember this being too much of an issue beforehand, but it's a growing problem. It does pull you out of the experience, because you could be just listening or in the moment enjoying something on stage, but somebody (or quite often a small group) walking in front of you and blocking your eyeline can really pull you out of the moment. Why can't people just fecking enjoy the music?! You've paid to watch a band, just fecking watch them. It got ridiculous at one point with the same two shirtless twats going past us about 4 or 5 times. I do generally think the gigging public are getting worse etiquette-wise.

The annoying thing is that the band were fecking amazing. They were one of the best bands I've seen and were incredibly tight, even with some of the time changes or funny rhythmic sections. But, the experience wasn't what it should have been. Felt sorry for the wife who was really looking forward to it, but that sort of stuff that happened really put a downer on the evening. I feel a bit cheated.

Going to Meshuggah (Whitechapel & In Flames opening) next week. I've never been to a heavier concert before (just bands like Tool and Alice in Chains previously) so not sure what to expect, but I've always wanted to see 'Suggah' live, people say they're great and who knows how much longer they'll tour.

I was there too and after eventually "wandering" into the ideal position, I managed to get decent views of the band and a good audio mix. Looking at setlist.fm though, it appears that we were treated to the shortest set of the tour so far.

Sounds good.

Reading through the pages of this thread and it all seems to be bands from when I was young (20 odd years ago). Do new bands not exist or are they all just shite?

When it comes to hard rock/metal, its all garbage in the mainstream. Long gone are the days when bands like Tool, Rage, SOAD, etc were on radio, now its 'the' bands and soft rock. But there is a ton of talent outside of the mainstream you have to search for. But its out there.

I’m too lazy

Rage, SOAD, Pantera, Slayer…..all still my most regular listens. I even listened to slipknots first 2 albums the other day

And of course, Tool

Queens of the Stone Age in Dublin last night. Just incredible. The band are the best they've ever been, the sound in the 3Arena was fantastic, Josh was in great form and the setlist was spot on. I'll not forget that one.

Recently added Pendulum to next year's schedule and now Catfish and the Bottlemen have returned from the dead so hoping a tour is on the cards there.

Lloyd Cole and The The are both playing a local venue (not at the same time) so tempted to go.

How did you find it? I saw them a few years abck and it was such a great night, one of the most party-like gigs I've ever seen.
One of the best nights I’ve been too, love it, it was superb.
