Ronaldo has to be included, the fact that the best player ever in the sport played for United is enough.

Thats probably it and probably in that order for me.

There is a case for many others. Notable mentions include; Violett, Foulkes, Rowley, Beckham, Carrick, RVN, Van Der Sar, Evra, Solskjaer, Vidic, Bruce, Pallister, Hughes.
Pretty much nailed it. Maybe add Louis Rocca?

For me legends are someone who set the standard so high in his role that all future players will be compared to him.
Peter Schmeichal - all future gk will always be compared to him. One on one and penalties.
Sir Alex - managers now and beyond will have to compare with him.
Ronaldo - 48 goals a season in United.
Rooney - 17-18 yrs old with so many hattricks.
Keane - all future captains will be compared to him in terms of influence and leadership.
Giggs - evergreen long lasting.
Solsjaekr - he is the definition of super sub.

You get the idea. There are many more players.

As for Cantona, legend is Cantona.
