Who replaces Ten Hag?

This place is weird.
I hadn’t supported sacking Ole in the first place but whatever. I don’t support sacking Ten Hag now, anyone who looked at injury records this season and found 50+ incidents wouldn’t anyway.

I’d say we don’t deserve another great manager until we put the same amount of patience as we gave Fergie in the first place

Finally, a reasonable tone! I respect that opinion, and I agree with the aspiration but time will tell whether INEOS are truly appointing best in class and if the links are just idle tabloid headlines. I too hope that is the case, as they are seriously underwhelming.
Thanks, plant

Let’s hope. If it’s this summer I’m confident they’ll get a very good manager. I’ll be less confident if they stick with Ten Hag for now but then sack him during next season. Then I think the likes of Potter (assuming he’s still unemployed) will become our only realistic options - unless they get very lucky, like when Everton got Ancelotti because the timings were just perfect for them during the season

What's he done that De Boer hasn't done, beside a league cup?
Take a team that was struggling to qualify for Europe to regular UCL knockouts for one. Thats before you consider what he done at Utretch

De Boer didn't have his side playing some of the best football in Europe either whilst regularly beating and competing some of the best teams in Europe.

Whenever someone has a bad spell its amazing how many people try so hard to discredit what they had previously achieved.

So Nagelsmann to Bayern, Alonso is staying put, Amorim is rumoured to Liverpool, and De Zerbi is apparently of interest to Barca. Seems to point to Potter, Tuchel or sticking with Ten Hag. (I refuse to accept Southgate is a candidate)
Yeah, I think Nagelsmann to Bayern strengthens the hand of ETH.

I think it will be Potter. Makes the most sense with Ashworth coming in. Bit of a safe bet for him.

Yeah I believe most underlying metrics had us around 5th or so all things considered last year. Those same metrics believe we are bottom half of the table level this season. Either way it's a monstrous drop off.
I wouldn't be surprised if we finish -20 points on last year. Which is nuts in the space of 12 months.

Ten Hag is failing but I don‘t see Potter succeeding here. Go for Inzaghi, Iraola or Nagelsmann.

I’d much rather have Potter in to give it a go than another season of ETH allowing us to get dry bummed every game. He is so lucky that we are 7th - should be about 12th.
Doesn’t have to be Potter at all though - loads of mangers out there that can upgrade our play coming in as head coach. Just get rid of ETH now.

Are we really at the point of ‘giving it a go?!’ :nervous:

Why does he even want to go back? They sacked him unfairly because they thought Tuchel would be better. Feck em.
Most managers don't take sackings that personally. It's just a normal part of the job.

In fact I'd say the Caf is probably the only place where sacking a manager is perceived to be the worst offense imaginable.

It's a United fan thing but yeah. So many fans seem to be terrifed of the idea of hiring a coach and sacking him after a year if it doesn't work out. They would rather stick with something that's been proven not to work.
