Were on course for a change on our transfer policy but we usually tended to make one start signing each season and i don't It will change much.( we've had di maria, sanchez, Sancho, pogba etc etc)
So who will it be and on another note who do you think ot will.
Could either of de jong or de ligt be possibilities due to the ten hag link? Will it be the free agents dybala? The fan base favorite rice?

Discuss!

I honestly have no idea where to start. I imagine this summer will be the busiest United summer in a long time.
We are bleeding at midfield and with 2-4 midfielders leaving.. I would think this would be our priority.

I dont even care about a huge name. I would rather have a couple of guys that bust their asses and stay healthy for more than 3 games in a row. I think the "lesser" known players give more effort consistently.

Griezemann who will inevitably be a disaster.

Antony.

In reality I hope instead of a star signing we just focus on making the right ones.

I highly doubt we will sign a big name player this summer.

We will look at younger players rather than the Dybala type. I prefer this as the players will be coming without any fee pressure.

I hope we stay away from the big name signings for the foreseeable future. Focus instead to hungry players willing to adapt and fight for the club, rather than come for a cushty paycheque

With the amount of players we need to buy j don't think we're gonna spend more than £50m on anyone

Is there anyone around here that actually watches the guy and has a valid opinion on him?
I know he's scoring some goals, but the few times I've watched him he didn't look really good, very very rough. He has a bit of Wan Bissaka about him and I'm really not comfortable with that.

I’ll be honest, I’ve always gotten excited with star signings. Didn’t think a single one would flop. But look at the state of this team right now. I think that a star signing is the literal last thing we need. We need to sign an entirely new midfield and defense plus likely a forward or two. Thats absurd. So yeah, no star signings, just a few good players who fit the bill.

I know we're dumb but surely not that dumb. He's clearly in decline.
Yeah..

Griezemann signing with Pjanic pulling the strings in midfield. Probably try to sign Dybala on a free too and shoehorn him onto the right wing

And surely not much need to.

No point getting a marquee signing when they won't be joining a club capable of winning anything. Better to just sort the core out first and get players who can fit Ten Hags style. Then add quality later.

If I could I'd put a cap on what we could spend on any individual signing this summer.

Looking at Liverpool (who are the best recent example of the sort of rebuild we need) they rarely spent more than £50m on any individual player as part of that rebuild.

Because across all of the world there will always be many excellent players purchasable for less than £50m. And it is an exceptional player indeed who justifies an extra £20-30m on top of those alternatives in their position, as long as you've actually been able to identify those alternatives. And if you're not identifying those alternatives, spending massive money on Declan Rice type players for 80m+ isn't the solution. Better scouting is.

Just give me a few sub £50m signings who fit the manager's style of play and whose best positions are the areas we're weakest. No massive names, no massive fees.

Hopefully the impetus is not to have a star player so to speak but players that are aligned with the managers vision. With the amount of outgoings the most prestigious name will likely from a forwards position. Nkunku if the club is seriously tracking his situation perhaps.

This summer, I hope we only sign players that fit the team, not star players because they are big names.

Hope there are none. We need to go for young hungry talent not mercenaries looking for their next fat contract.

That's genuinely and unironically worse than the whole spice Boys era of pool.
I might take a break from watching football.

Hopefully Nkunku will come. Feel Rice will move elsewhere unless we get champions league which is seeming unlikely. But as others as stated the onus has to be on signings work horses who will give you everything as this current lot is the laziest I've ever witnessed.

I don't think we have room in the budget for any 'big names'.

Young, motivated players with speed, energy and a commitment to pressing - that's what we'll be looking for.

We need to break out of this galactico malaise.

Rashford on 300k contract
Don't. I still can't shake the feeling that he will get a bumper new contract along with Pogba.

Fingers crossed we don't make any star signings and just start building the foundation of a quality, hard working side that isn't full of lazy cnuts.

Either Paul Pogba or Jesse Jlingz Lingard. Both fantastic talents on social media

I do think it will be hard for the club to resist making big commercial signings going forward, shirt sales are a huge part of our revenue. Doesn't mean we can't find big names who fit into the new manager's system though. Just no more Sanchez or Pogba type signings please.
