Can't believe they've scored more than us this season too. Can’t believe how wank Chelsea have been this season, yet they’re still leading the pack for the final CL places.
Has anyone genuinely checked the PL maths? I’m sure they must’ve fecked up somewhere...
Agreed, i mean if they were going to throw a match to spite you wouldn't have it made much more sense in 95 when Kenny's Blackburn rocked up at Anfield? Not to mention they got that 1-1 vs Arsenal the following season which practically secured your 19th title to go above them. Not intentionally IMO. But they might not bother to show their best, same as they have been doing since they clinched the title.
For what is worth, I don't believe that they threw their match in 2010 too. They actually played good, Aquilani even hit the bar and had other chances. Gerrard fecked up, but he had done it several times in his career (against Arsenal gifting a goal to Henry, and against France in the last minute gifting a penalty to Henry).
yeah, I don't think they do it deliberately, but if you guys wanted it more than them, played harder than them, then you guys would likely win it. Subconsciously, why risk injury going into a 50-50 tackles with Kante when you got nothing to play for?Agreed, i mean if they were going to throw a match to spite you wouldn't have it made much more sense in 95 when Kenny's Blackburn rocked up at Anfield? I can see subconscious phoning it in in these type of situations but throwing games? No way, above all else it's illegal, Gerrard doesn't strike me as someone that would have the bollax to risk it.
They're getting them in an empty stadium with cardboard cutout fans and pre-recorded cheering. They'll look like idiots running around regardlessIsn't it a title presentation day? Don' think they want to look like idiots while getting the medals
United against West Ham, 2007.Theyll know the eyes of every Liverpool fans will be on them, ready to celebrate.
I honestly cant think of any title presentation day that had the champions lose. Maybe there's obvious examples but I cant think of them
I hope no one actually believes that Klopp approaches games based on how likely they are to hurt Manchester United in a hypothetical future.No. This is not a thing. The world doesn't revolve around us. This is insecure fan bollocks.
In any case, we don't need a Chelsea slip-up to finish top 4.
In the words of the great man himself, couldn't care less.Anyone actually want Liverpool to lose both of their last games? I don’t want them to reach 99
Couldn't agree more Good post.If it was the other way around, would Utd throw a game to stop Liverpool getting in the top 4? Would they feck and I'd argue with anyone that says otherwise. The players and clubs don't have the same tribalism that fans have and they certainly don't throw games to disadvantage another team. What Utd do this season now is of no relevance to us and vice versa. We were of no relevance to you lot in the 90s and 00s because you were too busy winning stuff. Next season might be different but right now, Liverpool only care about Liverpool.
If we lose against Chelsea, it's not because we've thrown it, it's because we weren't good enough on the night.
Since the title was confirmed, the intensity that you normally associate with Liverpool hadnt been there. Numerous reasons for that but if I went onto a pitch for a game that meant nothing, knowing that the new season was only a few weeks away, my intensity wouldn't be there. I wouldn't want to play with high intensity and pick up a stupid injury on a nothing game potentially ruling me out for a chunk of the new season.
We've been playing high intensity football week in, week out for 2 straight seasons. I'm not surprised that the players are having off days when they don't need to win games.
I genuinely feel sorry for them. They're getting them in an empty stadium with cardboard cutout fans and pre-recorded cheering. They'll look like idiots running around regardless
I feel its more of a conscious effort aimed towards discrediting anything we might achieve in the game( a win or a draw). If it was the other way around, would Utd throw a game to stop Liverpool getting in the top 4?
