The return leg of our final against Chelsea is next Wednesday at Altrincham. Unfortunately it's at 3:30 so I probably can't get there. No sign of it being broadcast anywhere either, though there's still time for MUTV or the FA to surprise me.

That hour difference really is annoying, as I am at work for half 7, and it takes about an hour to get home from Alty....

Second leg of the title playoff (Northern League v Southern) today. We lead 3-1 from the first leg. Still no sign of it being streamed anywhere, which is a shame. Hopefully we'll get updates from fans at the ground.

The U21s won 3-1 and that means they won the final 6-2 on aggregate. They've completed their Cup/League double!

Soooo frustrating that my time away meant that I missed being able to chat about this tremendous achievement!!
I couldn't be any happier and prouder for all involved with this, from Charlotte, to her coaches, to all of the players, and the rest of the backroom staff!
Well done to everyone who made this possible!!
To do the double is truly remarkable, an historic moment!

Now the hard part comes, trying to see what happens next, will Marc use any of them next season, will any go out on loan, will any leave us, as I don't see how playing at gigs level again next season will help their progress or development.
Plus we have to try to make sure that this isn't just a one off achievement, by a spectacularly special group of players, we have to look at the even younger groups, and ask are we doing everything possible, to make sure they are following in these players footsteps.
The future hopefully is an exciting one for this crop or group of players, but ot will only be so, if they are not mis-managed, or mishandled next season, and in subsequent years after that.

Fabulous achievement by the girls. The youth really is the foundation of the women’s team in more ways than one!
22/23 season
After last year's successes for the U21s a lot of that team are on the move now - signing their first pro contracts etc - so this year's squad are an unknown quantity for now. We have brought in a couple of overseas players for registration with the U21 squad.
Meanwhile, further down the age groups, the new season is just getting underway with the summer holiday tournaments.
From the weekend then:
" U14s defeated Durham 15-0.
U13s defeated Durham 10-0.
U12s defeated Villa 4-0 in the final and won the tournament in Villa.
U11s defeated Villa 6-3 and won the tournament.
U10s won their final 2-1. "

I've posted in the men's Academy forum about this so want to be consistent. I've been championing Academy football for most of my life and I'm always delighted to see all of our teams do well.
However, I'm not sure about posting images of very young children on this site without the clubs/parents permission.
If everyone else thinks it's ok then I'll let it go. Otherwise we should probably self-regulate on this one.

I think it was clear cut enough with the tweet I posted yesterday, I shouldn't have used it - it was unclear where the photo had come from or what permission had been sought. There are more general issues though, that it would be interesting to get feedback from other posters on.
The obvious grey areas are the ones around social media pictures of the player posted by a proud parent, and around the pictures posted by the Foundation. The @MU_Foundation itself (that run the girls' teams for the club) often include photos on their posts, including pictures of the U14 team this week.
The U21s are in a different category of course. United routinely include their photos (individual and group) when they're reporting.

I post my own photos once the players reach Scholar level as the club tends to do that anyway. But anything under U/16 level I am very sensitive about for men and women.
I agree posting results or details of tournaments is no big deal and easy to keep generic regardless of age.
I guess if the foundation or parent posts something in an open forum then GDPR rules are relaxed as a consequence. I know from working HR that if someone posts something on the internet, such as Twitter or LinkedIn which is a private platform, you maintain the rights to that image/post/information (it's yours so no one else can use it without your permission) but other people on that platform can repost/retweet the image on the same platform as a platform user.
If the foundation/parents don't want anyone using the image then they shouldn't have posted it.

U16s lost the FA girls’ youth cup final to Arsenal on pens (2-2 FT).
Our U21s have won the WSL Professional Game Academy League North again. They’ll play Southern winners Arsenal in the final.

I realise that Youth levels of Women's game don't get much interest but crazy that there isn't even a Tweet about it on the MUWomen account
That's terrible isn't it.
To be fair think our social media crew need binning. They are atrocious on a number of counts.
The interest would grow if they pushed it like they do with the men’s academy teams. I invest quite a lot of my time in the academy and I’d be very interested in following them and finding out who the next Tooney or Katie Zelem are.
The Leicester game and how it unfolded is classic United. The footage would’ve been great to see.
But we don’t even have a mention of them winning the title, anywhere. Not on the app, not on the club’s website, nothing on socials either.
It’s pathetic.

They might not want to show the games, but why not have a summary programme showing the goals from the academy games, both men and women's. MUTV has gone to pot, that would be a great platform to promote all the women's teams. They really are missing a trick there.
Has Bancroft actually left yet? Either way you get the sense things are pretty directionless right now, and it seems clear that the women's side is at the bottom of the priority list for Ineos.
Yeah I totally understand that it takes a lot of effort (and resources to an extent) to broadcast full games or even highlights. But something, please.
Start with informing fans about the results, perhaps share some of the players’ stories/history, publish match reports etc.
As you said we don’t really do well in terms of media. I think this is the first season they actually write reports of all the U18s & U21s games. That took a lof of effort and feedback from fans to happen.
It’s hypocritical from the club to hype the 250th academy debut and all that Youth, Courage, Success stuff, but then actually ignore the fans who want to follow and support the academy teams. The number of games behind closed doors, the lack of U21s games on MUTV and this case as the most recent example.
From where MUTV started I think they have seriously cut down on their budget, you can tell by the people they have on it.

I’m not so sure about that. They fly to pre-season camps in numbers, including sending a reporter & camera person to the academy camps, do regular podcasts and the most recent ”Raise the Game” show seems pretty high in production value (the content is mostly crap though).
Quite an extensive staff on men’s matchdays too, especially at home.
It does feel a bit wrong and unfair that we’ve got MU18s’ goals in the Goal of the Month montage & votes, but the WU21s get ignored on that.
