World Cup Qualifiers

Sounds like the Ethiopian FA has admitted they fielded an ineligible player in one of their qualifiers. Huge lifeline for South Africa if true.
They'll probably still win the final game though. Then again, you never know.

What? There's at least 5 teams who don't qualify from Europe each time who would easily win qualification elsewhere. Sweden, Czech Republic, Croatia, Russia, Ireland, Turkey, Ukraine and Bosnia didn't make the last world cup

I don't think any of those teams would have been guaranteed a spot if they were situated in Asia. First of all, they would have to face pretty decent sides like Japan, South Korea and Australia. Secondly, Middle Eastern away fixtures are never easy. Even the current strong Japan team fear those away games. Not only because those nations are typical "home sides", but also because the conditions can be pretty rough. Last week when Japan played Iraq, they had to take 2 extra breaks because of the heat. And this was a night game!

And even if you are fair enough to admit that Japan, South Korea and Australia are decent sides, let's not forget that the last 2 had a really hard time qualifying this time. There's no such thing as a walkover in the Asian region, whether you like it or not.

Carlos Querioz gave the Korean coach some stick after his recent comments about him watching the WC on TV.

My brother actually stood up and clapped him when Holger called them out.

They started playacting from 60 mins  feckin' knobheads

It happened 10 minutes into the game. That little weasel went down for about a minute holding his back and was stretchered off on his back while his legs developed some mysterious ailment and were stretched and rubbed. Then got a back spray and ran back on fine about 25 seconds later.

It disappointed me to see Cahill having a whinge on the field. Suck it up mate you had a mare, yes the service was shite but your touch was bad at the same time.

Are the two qualifying games tonight worth watching?

USA vs a depleted Honduras and Costa Rica vs Panama. I know very little about the second game but the group with Mexico and America looks extremely tight and Mexico in jeopardy of not making it.

What a blunder by Maicon  (with guidance from David Luiz), smart of Meireles to predict it.

Neymar runs past half the Portuguese team and scores the 2-1 after Nani lost the ball in midfield. Terrible defending.

Loving this game - quality and cuntishness in equal measure

Seriously reconsidering my plan to head to bed at this late hour :D
