Liverpool has a better squad than us. They're better than us, end of discussion. But in yesterday's game, we made Liverpool look like an average side. Aside from their goal, which I would blame on Rojo, they didn't create much. You can't have seen the same game I saw. Fred was firing. A few minutes before Liverpool scored, Fred had a shot just outside their post. It's not a great chance, but he hit the ball rather good, and we're not that far off a 2-0 lead. And we were compact. Perhaps even too compact. AWB or James should be out wide when Robertson hits the cross, in an ideal world, but Liverpool moved the ball quickly, and it's often better to stay compact in front of our goal than starting to push out wide to pressure the holder of the ball. Especially when Liverpool moved the ball as they did. Game management, Ole hit it spot on. We didn't let Liverpool create anything. Klopp was really getting frustrated. Klopp sent Henderson out wide at the start of 2nd half. Dropping Firmino a bit back, and moving Mané in more centrally. Ole changed it around, sent Young out on Henderson, had McT following Firmino. You hardly saw Firmino and Mané in the 2nd half. Hardly in the first half either. Because we were bang-on with our tactics. You might say "yes, but it was Ole who started Rojo!". Yes, but it wasn't his intention to start Rojo. We were going to start Tuanzebe, but he got injured. Nobody is celebrating the draw. I feared a loss, but in the end, I'm disappointed that we didn't take all three points against them. Now we need some wins away. I don't really care much about the EL and the cup-tie against Chelsea, but if we can use them to gain some confidence, that would be good. Norwich and Bournemouth will be the next tests.
