Schmeichel 247

Neville 203
Stam 139
Bruce
Irwin 218

Best 191
Charlton 129
Keane 180
Giggs 205

Cantona 173
Law 133

This would be the reserve team:

Van Der Sar 8

Parker 12
Pallister 72
Rio 56
Heinze 25

Beckham 52
Robson 128
Scholes 74
Ronaldo 46

Ruud 85
Ole 39

In my humble, Paul McGrath should have been there instead of Rio (McGrath was one vote behind), and I'd choose Kanchelskis on the right wing - he had 23.

I wouldn't like to say which team would win if they played each other tbh!

Nice idea, but the votes have been cast and the polls closed. They are in the Polls forum if you want to have a look.

The exact team I voted for. It seems that great minds think alike.

Cheers for the effort, by the way.

Livvie, can I propose a recount by Weaste?

Mcgrath not being there is a travesty.

Absolutely.

Unfortunately, people vote for who they have seen, and not too many saw McGrath.

So basically, the poll is crap. :)

I stand before the judge here, and honestly swear that in the voting for the centre half's I made 1 choice instead of 2. I actually thought we only had 1 vote.

I would have put McGrath in the team with Stam, so that lost vote could have put him in the team...... I'll serve my punishment (as long as it's not supporting the dirties this weekend) quietly for this crime of general muppetry.

:nono: That's an unnecessary and insulting remark. Not a nice thing to say to a lady. Or to me. I mean - as if Poll would interest me......

Only two of the current team make it, but six of the current team make the reserves.

agree Livvie - Cantona having more votes than the GENUINE King is a joke as the piss poor reaction of voters to George

Why did no-one notice or comment that Rooney got left out!

Bollox.

We might have to do the strikers again.

I don't even think Rooney is a striker as such. His game is about so much more than scoring goals.
I think there should be a special category for him.

What you have to remember is that most people who are old enough to have seen McGrath, couldn't even switch a computer on let alone deal with the general lack of intelligence, and abundance of muppetry, on this site. Me personally, I think much the same travesty has been committed by a lack of Martin Buchan in the showings. Then i'm an old fart -now, how the feck do I switch this thing off? :D

There is - if he carries on at the rate he is going - he will be promoted to a God. Sadly not won too much or been at the club long enough to force his way past the other choices. :smirk:

Well at least some would have seen McGrath but there are players from the 50s and 60s who would have probably got in there if only people over 60 or 70 had voted. Hughes could be considered unlucky not to be ahead of Ole for instance as well.

Duncan Edwards would have strolled in and Roger Byrne too - maybe even Tommy Taylor

My team had Buchan and Foulkes as the centre backs and an honourable mention for Mr McGrath.
