Sometimes the movie posters stay with you long after the movie has been and gone. In some cases they're actually better than the movies themselves. Some are pure marketing gems. Some become quite iconic in their own right. So here is a chance to post your favourites. They may be for aesthetic, visual, sentimental, humourous or whatever reasons. You may never have seen the actual film but the movie poster (or thumbnail) these days may have left a lasting impression. I'll get the ball rolling and will probably end up posting a ton in here. Cineworld used to have free posters which I collected for a while. Some of them would have looked great framed. Don't know what happened to them all.

Anyway, a few to get started...

Still haven't seen this film yet but just love the poster. Nothing special about it but it just works.

So much symbolism in this one. And such a great film.

Probably one of my favourites. Grainy colour works perfectly.

This works on so many levels with the black and white contrast. Great poster.

RoboCop, back to the future and American Beauty are very iconic.

Piracy on the High Seas.
Definitely Grave of the Fireflies — by jacking up the brightness/contrast you can see the ominous silhouette of a B-29 Superfortress (which were used to drop Fat Man on Nagasaki and Little Boy on Hiroshima), so the seemingly innocuous fireflies around Setsuko and Seita actually represent some sort of incendiary munitions...

Posters are often better than the film:

Lots of great sci-fi posters be it 50s or 70s:

Deco is a good fit:

Always liked the Exploitation reworkings of the Bond formula.

All the Hong Kong action stuff:

And Japan:

Lots of great early posters:

There's a couple of posters from this film but this one was always my favourite. Again great imagery in this one.

Remember seeing a full blown poster of this. Was awesome and is pretty iconic. Probably the best scene from the whole movie. Love a bit of Sigourney.

Great lighting and use of background in this. Brilliant poster and very much looking forward to this film. Moss slowly becoming a favourite.
