Wouldn't it be very harsh for Rashford to be a sub player if he performs so well? Zlatan obviously has to play just like Martial and Mkhitaryan and there's only one spot left upfront as 4-4-2 is outdated in my opinion.

Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Rashford, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Martial, Memphis, Lingard, Young

How do we go about it?

At this stage

Rashford
Martial, Zlatan, Mkhi

Is my preferred front 4. I hope to never see a lineup with Zlatan, Mata and Rooney in it!

Front 3 for me.
Martial, Zlatan and Mkhitaryan.
I don't think Rooney and Zlatan can play together and Zlatan is still a better striker than Rashford.

Mickey, Rooney and Martial behind Zlatan. Maybe Mata over Rooney.

Great to have these options.

And players who are keen to impress and the licence and freedom to do so.

In answer to the question, I don't know yet.

Let's not write off Rooney so much. I have a feeling the Jose effect will bring the best out of him. I'm expecting a good season from him. Rashford will get game time don't worry. He'll be rotated in for Ibra.

If we sign Pogba then,

Rashford
Martial Pogba Mkhitaryan

Which is how I want us to line-up next season (17/18).

I have doubts about rashford on the right, but i think he has what it takes to make it work in time.

Martial - Mata - Mkhitaryan

I just think the speed of Rashford is a gamechanger

I suspect we may actually end up playing 4-3-3 when Pogba signs

It's really hard to say the front four.

It depends on formation, the opposition, form and so on.

Ibrahimovic is always a starter. The rest it depends on form. If you need a runner you start Rashford and Martial on the wings, if you need trickery you can go for Memphis.

If you need someone to create, Rashford, Pogba (if he comes which is 99% at this point), you have Mhkitaryan capable of great passing and dribbling too.

Really hard to just say 1,2,3,4 thats the lineup deal with it.

Go with power.
Ibrahimovic
Martial --------------- Mkhitaryan
Pogba -Fellaini
Carrick
With Rashford coming on to torment tiring defences/to create space for midfield if we aren't dominating. If anyone isn't performing, we have so many options to rotate. Can quite conceivably see Memphis break into the team at some stage, Lingard and Mata too. They are much more suited to a fast paced counter attacking system.

Rashford +3 for me.

He's just absolute electric, gives us something that none of the other 3 options can when up top.

Think Ibra would be better in a 10 position where he can roam and get involved in the build up. Martial and Memphis can battle it out for the left.

One thing for sure is out of mata/mkhi/lingard/Memphis/rashford/martial/Ibra/Rooney we've got some great attacking options now.

I think our best formation is 433, so a front 3 of Martial-Ibra-Mkh.
Unless Mourinho is planning on dropping Rooney or using him on rotation with Ibrahimovic, we can't play 433. Mourinho appeared to rule out playing Rooney in a midfield three.

So that also raises questions over where he sees Pogba playing - if he believes he can play in a midfield two, then problem solved.

Rashford Ibrahimovic
Martial CM CM Mkhitaryan

or

Ibrahimovic
Martial Rooney Mkhitaryan

With Mata, Memphis, Rashford and Lingard as back up, I'd sell Young and loan Pereria

This is my preferred XI.

I do think a true-ball winner needs to be bought.

I honestly haven't a clue. Really can't remember the last time we had so many exciting attacking players vying for places, and with the likely arrival of Pogba.. my word.

I wonder how many passes there were between Ibra and Rooney today.

What I'm afraid of is we're going to try playing Ibra/Rooney/Mata together.
