Kendrick - TPAB
Chvrches - Screen Violence

Although I like Station To Station, I'm surprised to see mentions of it ahead of Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust.
I could've picked either of those two too really. It just depends on my mood I guess. Same for the Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell albums I chose - it might've been different ones if I was asked a few months ago.

Good choices. I had those, and a few other Britpop era albums, as possibles but in the end didn't go for them in my top 5 as the ones I selected just 'mean' that little bit more to me.
That's why I went for the ones I did I the end, great albums but each of them have a significant memory attached to them also.
Was expecting a bit more love for Oasis in here.
Definitely maybe and what's the story only narrowly missed out, in another day they would have made it

Never listened to Master of Puppets but those other 4 albums are great. Chronic over Dre 2001 is a tight call.

Top five ever is tough, off the top of my head…

The Smiths - The Queen is dead
Beatles - Sgt Peppers
Amy Winehouse - Back to black
Depeche Mode - Violator
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the key of life

Could do it again and probably pick a different five…. Prince/Purple Rain, Plan B/The defamation of Strickland Banks, My Chemical Romance/The black parade. Like a lot of music types…

… just not Justin Timberlake.

Life after death over Ready to die - interesting! I think of biggie and immediately think of Ready to die, maybe my failing memory does Life after death a disservice!

Future Sex / Lovesounds is massively underrated!
Imo ready to die has a few bangers on it that carried the album, where as Life after death is a more complete body of work. It's a really incredible album, disc 2 alone imo would qualify as the greatest rap album of all time, add disc 1 and it's something completely different. I say that as a far bigger Pac fan than a biggie one.

True, honestly think if he kept that momentum after that album he'd go down as one of the true greats. But like Usher, he peaked and kinda let it go.

2 really great albums from beginning to end.

One reason that I don't include a number of albums that I love, such as Nevermind, is that the brilliance of the early tracks tapers off, so I hesitate to say it is a truly great album.

Love anything they do… watch 101 regularly, seen them in concert 15+ (hoping to get to Berlin one days) but Violator was probably the peak (as a full album).
Agree love them have been a fan for over 30 years now. 101 is just great, probably as good as anything anyone has done live or as a document to the chaos on the road. Seen them live 6 times now first time was in Munich Germany 98. Since then seen them in Milano, Sweden, Germany and the UK. Last time was in Berlin Olympiastadion on the Delta Machine tour. Even managed to infect my girlfriend with the Mode mania and she might actually be even more of a fan than I am today. Violator is just a perfect album with hits, catchy songs but also the depth and sorrow just flowing through that album.
