Could definitely provide us with that tempo controller we need in there but still require a DM too in my opinion

Great player. Wouldn’t mind him for £50m. He isn’t a better player than Pogba, but suits our play much better. Perfect replacement for Pogba, but I don’t see him coming if Pogba stays. Fred and YT is a good combo, and McT is a good backup for both of them.

Rice has been my first CM choice, but I change my preference if YT is available. They should be in the same price range, but YT is a more interesting player.

My (new) preference:
Varane - Swap deal Pogba
YT - £53m
Sancho - £72m

Well defensively he's okay (and better than McTominay) which may surprise some, so he could play next to Fred but if Freds injured or out of form we don't have any other player defensively good enough, so yeah possibly we need both CM/CDM and DLP but perhaps Fred alternative more..

Not sure the linked with United was true or not:

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...-transfer-leicester-manchester-united-5448249

But after watching United Sunday game against Southampton. And if Ole and United still use Pogba as left winger and only have McTom, Fred, Matic and DVB (minimal use). Then i think and believe United have a cm problem that need to solve and fixed. If the goal and target of the season is to battle for the league title until the end of the season. And maybe have trouble to get top 4 this season. Special if Spurs is doing well this season. Then City, Liverpool and Chelsea above United.

I have written and recommend and issue this problem in others threads and my own threads. The life and big hole after a world class nr.8. Paul Scholes. I have recommended and mentioned some names. Like the unrealistic Joshua Kimmich and the italian Nicola Barella.
And i did a search after others nr.8 options out there. Then this name and boy pop up in my head.
I have been watching and keep eyes on this boy since he was with Anderlecht. And before he joined Leicester July 2019 i was afraid and worry about his physical. How he can cope with the physical and intensity of the premier league.
Two years later. I think this boy has got use to the tempo and physical part of the premier league. I didnt worry about his basic football skills. This boy has always been really good with the ball.

So two years later. I will tell that he hasnt disapoint me. That he could handle the top leve of premier league. Like scoring the winning goal against Chelsea in the FA cup. And to be honest compare to another cm player i was following and scouting. Th Portugla Ruben Neves. Ok Wolves is not as good as Leicester. But Wolves havent been a poor team the last two years. And even Neves is more of an allround CM. But to be honest and fair. I think Tielemans has impressed me more and make a more impact in the premier league.
And like i said. Tielemans is more of a nr.8. More box to box and has abiity to pass players with the ball from central midfield area. And i am searching for a nr.8. A young and peak Paul Scholes, Luka Modric or Bastian Schweinsteiger. Not only a world class passer. But a complete nr.8. Include passing opponent players with the ball and ability to score around 5 goals a season from the position as nr.8. The mind and brain of the team.

And from words to more visual description. More correct and precise description. I will put in a video of him :

Really impressive. Passing, Passing opponent players and coming out of pressing situation. And ability to score.

And he is wearing nr.8 for Leicester. And United definitely need a complete nr.8 and a complete offensive and creative nr.8/cm player.

Then example how to line him up. Can be a team for the next 5 years for United :

Bissaka - Varane - Maguire - Shaw + Sancho - Tielemans - McTom - Rashford + Bruno + Greenwood. In a 4411 formation.

And relate to Pogba. With addition of Tielemans. I think United will be lesser dependent on if Pogba is staying or not. But United and Ole cant keep playing Pogba as left winger without buying a complete offensive and creative nr.8. Maybe Fred and McTom good enough for top 4 spot. But if you want to win premier league. Ole and United have to fix and solve this nr.8 problem. The big hole after Paul Scholes.

Sum up. Its 24.Aug. United have a bit more than a week to get Tielemans. I think Leicester will sell if they got a right and good price for him. And they had just bought a good cm player in Soumare. The creative one/cm. So i think Leicester already have a replacement for Tielemans. If he joined United.
And the price like mention above. Leicester paid 45 mill euro for him July 2019. Two years later. The price between 60-70 mill euro plus add on should be a good price for both parts.

Again. After the Southampton match. Ole and his coaching staff have to realize and accept that United have a nr.8 issue and problem to fix. Internally or externally solutions.

Internally solution:

Sancho/Greenwood - Bruno/Pogba - McTom/Fred - Martial/Sancho + Bruno/DVB + Greenwood/Cavani

If Ole and his staff is stuck with the solution that Pogba is a left winger and Bruno as nr.10. Then United have to buy Tielemans.
McTom and Fred are good enough for top 4 spot. But i think and believe not good enough for premier league title. None of those 2 are on or close to Paul Scholes level as a complete nr.8. On the best Bruno and Pogba can be really good nr.8. But against Sotton Ole didnt use that solution. The biggest reason why United and Ole got a draw and close to loose the match in the end.

The main purpose of my and this post. Not only about buying Tielemans as a new nr.8. But direct and issue United problems. The big hole after Paul Scholes retirement. Trough Bastian Schweinsteiger and the purpose of bringing back Paul Pogba. The other name and Paul brother. The big hole hasnt been covered, solve and fix yet.
Youri Tielemans i think and believe can and been able to help United to lift the premier league again. My external solution. 24 and have been 2 years in premier league. I was afraid and worry of him. Like throwing him to the lions and premier league. But the boy has handle and cope the premier league well. I think he is ready for the next and last step and level. Playing for one of the biggest club in the world. And with the best players. With United.

No thanks to dealing with Leicester, the daft cnuts will want 70 million as they think we are a direct rival.

Poach him on a free instead and feck them over the wankers.

Perfect replacement for Pogba.
Chelsea or City don't need him. Liverpool has other priorities.
Barca and Real has this position stacked up.

I would give us a good shot if we are interested. Problem is Ole is hell bound on Rice, I guess which is really a shame.

Yes please. Actually just mentioned him in the DLP thread. If we could land him for £50m or less it would be a fantastic deal for us whether Pogba goes or not. But he would be the perfect player to replace Pogba if he does go.

I think Ole is really interested in a holding midfielder. He could be a right fit for us.

If we're planning on sticking with a double pivot with two b2b CM's, Tielemans + a more defensive/ball winning type, like say Bissouma, would be the way to go.

They'll both be in the last year of their contracts next summer too.

Franck Kessie is out of contract in the summer and can sign a Bosman deal in 3 months from now. He is 24 and was the CM/CDM of the season in Italy last year ahead of Bentacur, Brozovic, Veretout etc. We also saw him first hand come to OT and put in a great performance.

If we're hunting for bargains he'd be hard to beat.

He was such an obvious signing for a low fee, before Leicester signed it. We of course sat on out hands and done nothing.

I said after his loan at Leicester it was stupid that clubs weren’t trying to sign him, because they’d have to pay 3x as much in a few years and it looks like the obvious was right as usual.

I seriously think clubs should hire me, I would save them a fortune

Agreed. I think Liverpool will end up going in for him. Seems a Klopp player.

We were doing the Maguire deal at the time, which was held up by this transfer. Simply put, the club felt Harry was more important.

It looks like the obvious was wrong, my dude. Tielemans signed for £40m. He wasn't cheap. 3x as much is £120m. He won't cost half that.

Leicester would be lucky to recoup their money if he doesn't sign an extension. How much do you think he'll go for, entering his final year? I reckon £50m will be the ceiling.

And would I be happy to pay a few £m more for a player now proven in the EPL with 3 years of first team experience under his belt entering his peak at 25? You bet I would. The chance of him going Donny's way is 0, that's great insurance.

My first choice Pogba replacement. If Pogba stays however I think we should be looking at other midfielders.

It won't be that bad to take him instead of Pogba next summer, but we all know that Leicester will give us so much BS exactly how they did to us with Harry.

I'm not entirely sure how Tielemans fits in at United. He's a really talented player but it does have to be mentioned that Ndidi is quite a special case and we don't necessarily have somebody to replicate that. Maybe he adjusts to playing alongside a different profile of player but it's at the very least a significant question to ask.

Dream for me would be

Tielemans——Bellingham
————Fernandes————

That would grow into an elite midfield partnership.

Tielemans is a very good, and proven CM and, if Pogba leaves (which I'm hoping doesn't happen), then he'd be a great replacement. Not a like for like replacement, but another quality all round midfielder who can contribute both on and off the ball, defensively and going forward, and who would be a very good signing.

I wouldn't expect him to be our CDM option which, hopefully, we're going for. And I can only see a second CM coming in if Pogba leaves - which, personally, I'm hoping doesn't happen as I'd love Pogba to stay. But if he leaves, I'd be pleased with Tielemans as a replacement.

Yep, that's why I hope we have plans to do the deal next year. He would be a perfect replacement of Genie.

Quite a lot actually. For some reason, we aren't exactly shopping for bargains. Guess, it'd be Rice and it would be a very disappointing transfer if we end up with him by paying over the odds and ignoring the below ones.

Kessie, Brozovic in 2022
Kroos, Bissouma, Tielemans in 23.

Tielemans is a proper CM. Now him and Chouameni would be amazing. Not happening I know. No harm in dreaming from time to time.

I think Bellingham is the player we should really be going for. Save the dosh till 2023 unless we have enough money for another midfielder, because Bellingham isn't going to be cheap

Tielemans, Bellingham, Bissouma and Tchouameni will all end up at the big clubs within the next couple of summers.

If we don't get any and end up with Rice and Fred  Depressing because you know that's exactly what will happen.

I seem to remember previously that many rate his ability, but think he's a bit on the slow side.

Is this still a thing?

He's into the last year of his contract next summer and would be ideal as the #8 in the double pivot when Pogba goes.

I thought he was really overrated (like Neves) uptil a year or so back. But it seems people genuinely think he's taken it up a notch or three (unlike Neves). If so, and he's got the ability to be a true playmaking 8 for a top club then this chap + that young French lad who is looking impressive, may make a good couple of additions in midfield.

Still waiting for the Youthquake
We could get him without spunking shitloads then.
possibly - though i could envisage a situation where he decides to see out his contract and move on a free the summer after

Potentilly he could go to the world cup in Qatar as a 25 year old with almost 500 top flight appearances including 50 international caps and be a few good games at a world cup from being able to sign a huge pre contract deal somewhere like PSG

Can see pogba doing similar and to be honest id do the same in his position (why let Leicester get say 50 million quid when I can wait 5 months and get 25m myself instead)
