You're a hard man. Seen any Championship recently? Because compared to some of the stuff served up there I think it wasn't too bad. For you Cathcart was head and shoulders your best player, honourable mentions to Brandy (a persistent nuisance), Welback (looked to have something else when he arrived) and Galbraith (tho' he should've scored late on). For us Merida and Randall had control of the CM without really creating much. I think the 1-0 was fair a draw would've flattered you. I also think you'll find it difficult at OT if you come and attack us.RedRichio said:

The Mexican wave p*ssed me off because it always distracts the players and the crowd reaction to the play ceased.
I still fancy us to turn them over at home but we'll need to be a little cleverer in defence and decisive in attack, imo.

Having watched United youth teams for quite a while, I have to say I am disappointed with last night.
Brandy looks really useful and has a chance, while Hewson and Drinkwter controlled the midfield. At the back Cathcart was very good - lots of Bobby Moore like tackles.
Disappointed with the likes of Wellbeck (who has an attitude) and Galbraith who has no pace - considering we spent a lot of money on him from Hearts, I was surprised.
As for the rest, I doubt they will make it, certainly not at United.

Having watched the game on MUTV now I have a slightly different take on one or two of our chances not taken and our defensive frailty. Not having a screen replay in the ground on the night made for a less enjoyable game for me imo.

Perhaps I was a little harsh. I was surprised Arsenal weren't better than they were. It just wasn't a very good game to watch to be honest. It was very frustrating watching United panic every time they got anywhere near the Arse box.

No not at all. Seemed pretty slow. Very tall. Will never make it to first team level. Too cumbersome.andersj said:
i'd say it's a bit daft to write a player who's been recognised as one of the finest u-17 centre-backs in europe off just yet. he's not quick by any means but he's not a slouch, and he reads the game extremely well for one so young. i can see where the cumbersome description comes from but the kid's still developing physically.

Grrr I went to Arsenal to try to watch Eikrem and James Derbyshire particularly. To my dissapointment Eikrem want even in the squad, and Derbyshire didn't get on.
Tried to find some United fans before the game, but there were very few of us there.
I thought Richard Eckersley looked very solid and Danny Galbraith looked good aswell. Galbraith made a fantastic run in the second half but just ran out of steam before he could hit it.

I only saw him 2nd half because i was sat on his side behind the goal and he looked decidedly shaky, caught out of position and a little on the small side. I thought he could have done better before Gibbs' goal. I expect he did well in the first half then.superdave said:

don't really know what's going on with him. think he was supposed to go back to molde for a while to have his family around when he was getting used to his medication. could be wrong. anyways - he'll be fine for the long term, but even if back to his best he might not play tonight. guessing hewson and drinkwater in central midfield. but guys like oskar and einar know these things better than i do. sure they'll drop by later on. so in conclusion - i don't really know shit
He is not first choice right midfielder. Welbeck is ahead of him. He has had very little football after the diagnosis, so I would be very suprise to see him in the 16.
You'll have to attack a bit more being 0-1 and at home and I reckon we'll catch you on the counter.
