Actually I think he'll do well between now and May and they'll give him the job permanently, only to be sacked by the end of September.
He'll be in the charge of the team only for a couple of games.

I've heard a story of the players and Di Matteo, i don't say anything more about my informations but...........

I don't have a house but i'd bet my house that Di Matteo will not be in the charge of the team for the last game of the season.

What a story eh?

Sacked by West Brom. A year later he turns up with the FA Cup and UCL medals (And will probably get sacked for it too). Football, bloody hell.

And in a week he could be back in the Midlands at Villa. Couldn't write the script...

He's immortal to the Chelsea fans and simply has to get the job now.

He'll lead them to a respectable 3rd place considering the squad they have but then get the sack for not delivering them the title. I have foreseen it.

I forgot he was even at Chelsea. I actually think he will do well for them between now and the end of the season

I mentioned in the other thread that seeing as AVB lost the dressing room, we can only assume Di Matteo is popular amongst the players
I don't often make good predictions. But I got this right, dammit!

Not many teams will sack a manager after winning the CL but I don't think Roman is sensible enough to keep him. He's done a fantastic job but has had a lot of luck along the way.

If Abramovich sacks him now, it proves he has no soul.
Yeah but it is a huge dilemma.

I mean how much was the UCL down to great managing from Di Matteo? Not much IMO. They had a lot of luck. Plus the team needs a rejuvenation and is RDM really the man for it.

The league form paints a better picture. 18 points in 11 games.

Does it?

A lucky General doesn't remain so forever. The domestic form was still barely adequate.

Abramovich may feel that he has clung on to the coat tails for long enough, and most importantly not up to the task of actually managing a rebuilding project.

Even f he's let go, he'll be able to manage just about anywhere now. Hes shown an ability to make his club punch above their weight.

I will be very surprised if he's still in charge next season. Still, what he has done is a great achievement and even if he is sacked he won't be short of job offers.

Di Matteo should pack his bags tomorrow. It won't get better than this. He'd have to rebuild that squad with a massive increase in expectations next season. He's a legend now. Get to feck with his reputation sky high, bag a decent job on the back of it.

Roman will be nice and wait a month or two before replacing him, as a reward for the win.
Who the f*ck would want to go to Chelsea now that Matteo's fluked a CL win. AVB was already screwed over, now the incoming manager has to face CL winners Lampard/Terry/Drogba as well as match Di Matteo's fluke.

Not even mentioning the horrendous money needed to outspend Man City and even Man Utd this summer (like that's gonna happen).

Think it's one of those interesting questions in sport, how much is success in the form of a one-off trophy win, worth? It's recognised that they need to rebuild, borne out by their league position (they didn't win a higher % of league games under Di Matteo than for the rest of the season). They delayed that rebuilding process which you'd think would have to be a negative thing, but ended up with a CL win, the pinnacle. This set of players can obviously do incredible things under more hands-off management, so do you just ride that out until that group all retires, accepting that it's going to be harder and harder to implement change?

I think it's probably right to accept this as a natural high-point for this group to finish on - knowing how hard this cup run will be to emulate - committing to breaking the team up & rebuilding in the summer. But then I thought they should have kept AVB & they've won the CL.

Romelu Lukaku obviously thinks he's gone...

I will go on the pre-season trip to the United States with Chelsea in the hope that the new coach will be there. After his analysis of the team, I will ask for a meeting with him to discuss the situation. If he refuses or does not have the time, I will ask to be loaned.
hmmm...
