If he was at United, would he have progressed through our youth ranks into the first team? I'm not sure...I prefer Tunnicliffe myself.

Has tunnicliffe progressed through our youth ranks and into our first team? Bit presumptious yet, there is still plenty of time for Tunni to refuse a new deal, and feck off for more money elsewhere......

Seriously though, i think Rodwell would have been great had it not been for injuries, looks to be able to do pretty much anything you would want a midfielder to do, apart from stay fit! He has had such an in out career so far it is hard to gauge what progress he has made, if any!

We DONT need another injury prone midfielder. Specially not one we'l need to develop. We have enough projects as it is.

I think if he stays fit he can still be moulded into a good player. Not top class but good enough.

No he's not but getting in Uniteds team is ALOT harder then getting in Evertons, a club who for a long time haven't really had any money. Our strategy is completely different to a club like Everton. He might be a great player one day but i'm talking about a kid who has a professional contract with United.

People often get seduced by other clubs kids but the fact it's easier for a lot of those clubs to bring kids through.

Career suicide.
Definitely. Apparently he was offered to the top clubs last summer for £16m as Everton needed cash for new players and there had been interest in him before but nobody, United included, were interested.

He's stagnated a bit since looking promising early on. Didn't even make the Team GB squad.

Yeh, I'd be interested to see a fee.

I'm completely in agreement with your post - started promisingly, stayed still for quite a while now.

obviously city trying to bring in some homegrown players

he can't get into the Everton midfield so god knows why he's agreed to go to City

Wouldn't mind us taking a punt, if the fee is not too much (somewhat below 15 million). He definitely has potential, but so much injuries at such important years of his career have surely taken its toll.

¥€$ its hard to know, it seems a bad move in a game time sense

Absolute nightmare. I just botched my suicide attempt. Now I've got to live with this transfer.

feck me this is a strange one from city, they don't particularly need him nor has he been playing rediculously well. Definitely should stay for at least another cseason with everton.

If he's very lucky he might end up getting a similar role to Milner.

Where will he play? They have Y.Toure, Barry, De Jong, Milner, Silva, Nasri.
i dont think rodwell would have been a good signing for us but compared central midfield options to our own emphasises how perplexing it is that we havent signed a central midfielder in 5 years.

Another Scott Parker transfer in the making, he can sit there with Adam Johnson.

Seesm a poor use of one's career to me.
