Oh god, Fergie makes me cringe at times. Why's he coming out with that shit. Could have been killed? feck me, the press are going to have a field day with that now.

Embarrassing shitstorm coming our way now. fecksake Fergie.

Well if your including Young, Valencia and Rooney as midfielders then fine we were. But Carrick was excellent and created a host of chances. Cleverley was below average but Carrick ran the show and was certainly not 'awful' creatively.
At the end of the day, we can't win every game. It's the level of performance that we need to look at and even in most of our wins it's the same.

Wide midfielders are very wasteful in advanced positions, central midfielders hold on to possession well but don't create much and defenders gifting goals to the opposition. It's not 'mental' to point it out.

To be fair a professional powering a shot at the back of somebody's head could definitely knock somebody out, let alone if his foot followed through.

Tbh it may just be the rage of the game but you can see how angry he is for us not winning that match.

I just thought we looked a bit too frustrated and wound up once they got back level. Rooney wasn't doing too badly up until that point, then for the rest of the game he just seemed to be furious with everything.

Too many players in general were trying to do things in too much of a hurry...apart from Valencia who seems to have sacrificially absorbed the rest of the team's zombieness.

Wasn't an awful performance. Take the pathetic defending on the first goal out of the equation and it was actually quite a good one. You can't claim to be unlucky if you're just going to stand there and let the other team score though

The last 10 mins or so were incredibly frustrating to watch. Granted, Swansea were well organised, but there just seemed no urgency in our play whatsoever.

We need Nani back, because Valencia is horribly one-footed/one dimensional, utterly predictable and in a poor vein of form.
'
Amen to that. We should hire a full time coach who can teach Valencia to use his left foot. It seems like everyone's figured out how to stop him rushing down the wing, which makes him pretty much useless when he's not in form or allowed any space.

We were unlucky though, fecking two in the crossbar and two sitters saved "on the line" by defenders when the GK was without a chance. Swansea were decent in defense as well, didn't make it easy for us.

I'm quite annoyed that we let one man run free for the rebound before their goal as well, we had three defenders around DDG without picking out Michu.

He's wrong in a way, but the power he kicked the ball he could have been concussed. Would you fancy us not having him for the Christmas games because of that. There was no need for it at all.

You really think it was a deserved draw? Their goal came from a ref mistake and we had the opportunity to score about six in the second half, while they had next to no threat upfront in the second 45 minutes. Hit the woodwork twice, several goalline clearances... I can see why anyone would say it wasn't our day, but Swansea really deserved nothing IMO.
We were shite all first half, our goal came from nothing. As I said Swansea had alot of possession and may not have created as much clearcut chances as us, but we only picked our game up for the last 25-30 minutes and we were wasteful. Their play and the hassle they gave us to not be one bit comfortable deserved a draw for them imo.

To be honest before KO today I was happy to take the draw. Just think this game could have been alot worse that's all.

I agree. We played some good stuff at times just that we fecked up the last pass or the finish.
You very generous concerning Rooney though. He was decent until they scored I agree but had a total mare afterwards.

What has happened to Valencia? I can't stand watching him play lately, so frustrating.

It was a cowardly act by Williams, but could have killed him? most shocking thing hes seen on a football park in years?

He's obviously just letting off steam because that's nonsense.

Fergie is way off with that rant. He could have been killed? jesus christ gimme a break.
Little extreme, but in fairness doing what Williams did could of seriously hurt Van Persie. Getting a football smashed at full force into your head could do serious damage, thankfully in this case it didn't. Killing is a little over board, but still pathetic from Williams.

Didn't our goal come from the corner won as a result of the wonderful Carrick (?) pass and chance Young should've scored, but for a great save?

Haven't seen us squander so many chances for a long, long time. A four point lead at Christmas is decent but we may live to rue those two points dropped.

Not sure why a few are slating Fergie about his rant?

Perhaps he was exaggerating a bit with "he could have been killed" but let's be honest it was dangerous foul play. A match ball is not soft and having it kicked right into the back of your head and neck is no laughing matter.

Well, Fergie is correct. Did Taylor see the incident or was the yellow card because of the fight with RvP?

If Oliver says he's seen it he's finished as a ref for not showing a red there.

I mean from our build up play in general. We werent ontop, the game was still open enough.

Oh and sorry Cina if I got you all wrong. Still not sure why you were bringing up Cleverley mind, but if it was Orduck with the silly matchday comment then my mistake.

What !? Carrick took the whole Swansea team out of the game with that pass which Young should have scored from. The corner was the result of Young's shot.

This was one of our better games of the season bar few individual performances. Swansea struggled to get out of their own half for much of the game and couldn't even play some meaningful counter.

if you actually watch Williams, he's looking at RVP the whole time.

It was a dangerous and stupid thing to do. The FA will probably ignore that and ban SAF for his post-match comments.

As I explained above, the goal came when neither team were ontop. It was open enough and then Swansea got stuck in. That's what I was trying to imply anyways.

Entertaining game for neutrals, but frustrating for us as we couldn't find the net in the second half.

Rooney, Valencia were poor. I thought Vidic was very good in the air, while he still looks a tad rusty, which is understandable given his lengthy lay-off. Van Persie's just class, the way he uses the ball, holds it up. Carrick was good as was Cleverley.

I remember the ref mouthing to Rooney that he didnt see the Incident; whether he chickened out who knows.

The yellow was given for the fisticuffs after.

No referee is "finished as a ref" after one mistake.

Great game to watch, on another day we could have won this by 5 goals. Unlucky with Van Persie's fantastic effort, and with Carricks header. Swansea got incredibly lucky with all their last ditch defending, and goal line clearances. Giggs had a very good cameo, and that is how he should be used, coming off the bench. Cleverley and Carrick were fantastic and our hopes of winning the game went away once cleverley did IMO.
Cleverley was not fantastic. Unless our midfield is rated as a pair, where Carrick's super-fantastic performance averaged with Cleverley's meh performance gives a fantastic overall rating.

press United and you'll score. they did and they did (lucky it was only one). they gave it up pretty much in the second half. we had many more chances but we were unable to capitalize. just one of those games offensively...unlucky for sure. very dicey defending at times but credit to them for exploiting our weakness.

I did mean them as a pair, but I don't see how Cleverley could only be meh. Maybe his first half was meh but his second half was great. He was everywhere, and had plenty of good touches.
