I'm not sure, I think the team changed pretty substantially in a short space of time between 2001 (our easiest ever title, won with five games to spare) and 2003. Yorke, Cole, Teddy, Blomqvist, Berg, Stam, Irwin, Johnsen all left in quick succession after the 2001 title, and then we spent massively on Ruud, Seba and Forlan. It feels to me comparable to the difference between 2009 and 2011, seasons which were effectively comparable in achivements but which felt like very different teams, even if they retained a lot of the same players.

There's also the fact that my split there coincides exactly with Ruud's time at the club and with our abandonment of our old tactics, both of which feel very significant.
Fair point. I always felt that the move to bring in a playmaker, push Scholes into the hole and buy a real top-class striker was a way to take the treble side to the next level, a more sophisticated European outfit that wasn't so reliant on Keane - rather than a 'new team' in the way the treble side was different from the Ince/Kanchelskis/Cantona side.

But now you point out how many players left, that does seem significant.

The rumour is Mourinho might be our new manager. The finer details are irrelevant really when it's all conjecture.
If Mourinho turns out to be our manager, after 64 pages of this... I will laugh my tits off.

It's probably just someone spreading wildfire, I'm almost certain it'll be Moyes, based on nothing but what I think.

That's far too drastic a turnaround to be believable at this point. If it were something a bit smaller scale, like say assistant manager related, I might have believed it.

Yeah, and the account hasn't tweeted what you said it did. As if FIFA are going to be the one to break news of a new manager in the Premier League anyway.
It did, they must have deleted it. I retweeted it on my account if you don't believe me. They just jumped the gun

It's 100% David Moyes, get used to it. Everyone in the universe is saying it's going to be confirmed today. Someone from RI is on a WUM and everyone has fallen for it, AGAIN.
