3 goals and one assist in another game where he didnt had any influence in, with Ribery instead of him Real wouldnt have suffered that goal, and Robben is obviously better:D

Too true that!

How the hell is he able to bag another hat-trick? Saying he's not up there with the best of the best is starting to sound a bit ridiculous. Who would you rather have in your team, someone who is involved in the play throughout the match, every match, or someone who scores for fun winning pretty much every game for you with bags of goals?

Do you think he'll win Ballon d'or this year?

Nah, it really isn't. But like I say this season is the year of Ronaldo in terms of form. Probably should get the balon d'or

His form this season so far has been amazing, but the Ballon d'or is decided mainly by what you do at the business end of the season. Messi's 91 goals ballon d'or bucks that trend though. Ribery has started the season well also, not on Ronaldo's level but coupled with his exploits last season he would be a worthy winner. I really am not sure who will win it this season. Messi has not been at his best but he carried Barca at times last year. Zlatan is an outsider I guess. It will be out of Ronaldo, Messi and Ribery. It would be great to see a different winner. It should go to the player with the best calendar year if Ronaldo had won trophies he would be favourite.

Messi being voted the best in the world is a "farce"?
Funny isn't it. I do think ron might have edged him, purely on his unstoppable form in this current season.

But messi is the current Pichichi. And was the main man in Barcelona walking to another la liga. And still had a fair few goals so far this season.

Far from a farce. Ronaldo fanboys are blind

Spot on. I think Ronaldo's been the best so far this season but like you say "farce" is way too far considering how good Messi is and has been over the course of 2013.

Not just that, in the space of a week they've went from 'Ribery or Ronaldo should winit' to 'How can it be anyone but Ronaldo'. Short memories me thinks!

The best player in the world in this beginning of the season, but still I think that Ribery should win it, because he was the best during 12-13 season. We know that it's theoritically given for a calendaric year (and Ronaldo has been the best during 2013) but in reality it's more important whay players have done during the previous season.

If Ronaldo continues like this, then he should easily get it next season.

People are just saying Ribery because they think a Bayern player should win it because they won the treble and have just picked one of their attacking players at random. A United player didn't win it in 1999 y'know. Rivaldo won it because there was no doubt that he was the best player in the world at that time.

Who watches Bayern anyway? Only hipsters or something like that. Personally I think that Ribery should win it, because when I put as input Ribery, Robben, Muller and Mandzukic (some of Bayern who? attacking players), Weaste's random generator gave as output Ribery. So he must win it, despite I have never seen him playing.

I agree, imo it's ridiculous that Ribery would be voted best player in the world, in a world where Messi and Ronaldo exist..

If Ronaldo keeps this form into next year then the Ballon d'Or might very well be his next year, regardless the team achievements..

He's basically on pace to rival Messi's ridiculous numbers from a couple of seasons ago. 50 league goals would be realistic at this pace.

Both games against Juve I was justifiably terrified every time he touched the ball, even when he was on Real's side of the pitch. His ability to drive the ball forward is unparalleled.

Messi, for all his brilliance, doesn't feel quite as dangerous outside the box and wouldn't have scared me as much. Especially considering the latter's poor record against Italian teams.

The team he's scored the most goals against in the CL is AC Milan.

They are so poor that I don't consider them Italian. Jokes aside, that may be true now. He's certainly improved in that sense this year.

Before 2013 and all the games against Milan this year, he had an atrocious record. Worse than that of Zlatan vs English teams. Something like 0 goals from open play in 9 games.

At the minute, best player on the planet, by miles. Nobody even comes close.
He is currently the best player on form, but Messi is the better player in general. Once one of Messi or Ronaldo wins the Balon I'll be happy.

That sounds about right. Ronaldo drives forward with so much pace and power, and then you know he can smash it in from just about any distance also - he must be a nightmare to defend against; he's impossibly fast, can go past a couple of players with ease, makes intelligent runs, shoots like a cannon and finishes like a poacher.

Certainly not on Ronaldo's level - I know you don't think he's much better than Jordan Henderson, but still

:houllier:

Ribery has won trophies while being a great player. The fact Ronaldo's team came up short should not be ignored. Ronaldo's form so far has been amazing but so has Ribery's. He has done his job at a 9-10/10. Neither would be an unworthy winner but to suggest people are putting Ribery's name in for the sake of it is laughable.

If Messi hadn't won the Ballon d'or the year Real won the league we wouldn't even be having this conversation. But 91 goals in a calendar year.....
The Ronaldo (justified) hype machine is picking up pace at the right time, he may just win it now. ly.

Thou art very good with the smileys, sir.

Why should winning trophies matter? It's an individual award. The fact that Ronaldo scores in pretty much every match, yet his team doesn't win much should reflect the rest of the team, not him as a player.

Honestly, I don't watch Ribery that much, but when I have, he's been a little disappointing and Robben has often looked the better player, imo, and I think we can both agree that Robben is not at Ronaldo's level. Imo, there's quite a gap between Ronaldo and Ribery. One might argue that Ibrahimovic would, in fact, be closer to Ronaldo's level this year.
