I'm up for WC one as well.
Counting you in

I like the idea but it'll be interesting to see how it works out in practice. For example, are players judged on their World Cup performances and, if so, will Scillachi curry more favour than Van Basten, Messi or Ronaldo?
It will be based on WC performances.
Counting you in too

Yes. He'd be from a relatively weak country, and United.

There's no point in hiding his name as he's the only player who would fit the query that I have. So before I make this pick I would need to know that is Diego Costa considered Brazilian or Spanish?

Earlier when we did the one player per nation we took the country of birth in case of players who played for multiple nations. So is that the case here as well?

The All-Time draft was special circumstances as players used to play for several teams or countries split up/reunited.

I'd say in a WC 2014 draft he is Spanish since he declared for Spain. I guess he still technically has the chance of playing for Brazil if he changed his mind before playing for Spain officially BUT the Brazilians loathe him now and Scolari pretty much said he can feck right off.

Since you will be playing in May, my money would be on him having been capped by Spain by then and not a chance in hell he will have been capped by Brazil. Thus Spanish.

That's an awesome side you are building there Pol. We really missed a trick not getting Martínez in the last round :annoyed:

Thank you Anto, still early days yet for me to screw up with a few bad/unbalanced picks

@Polaroid can you make a final call on the Diego Costa issue, just to avoid any confusion.
Yes, Diego Costa would be considered Spanish, what Anto said makes sense

Good pick Fergus, was the one I was in pains to lose with the Agüero pick and Robben gone.

Yeah, glad he lasted. He's been one of my favourite players for a while now and offers a lot of tactical flexibility too.

May need to pm someone my pick if Jake doesn't appear by 5, who's going to be around?

My picks are Daniel Alves, and Arturo Vidal. Both having very good seasons, and are key players for their respective countries and will play every game in the world cup available.

edit: missed Vidal, I'll make another pick now.
