Just bought the game a few days ago, and started up with Southampton. Am about halfway through the first season, and I could really need a new keeper. Any recommendations for someone in the January window preferrably? I've got about £ 17 mn.
Could try for ter Stegen if you break (what's the term?) the fee up over 48 months.
I tried ter Stegen, but Mönchengladbach are playing hardball. They wanted £ 60 million upfront...
When I was Southampton on FM13 I kept scouting Butland, generally because I wanted to keep the English base. May be worth a try.
Nearly halfway through my first season with Portsmouth. On top of the league with a decent squad. Youth facilities are being upgraded too.
I'm playing a fairly strange tactic for league two as well.

It's ok now, somehow something clicked and i'm in January 4th in the table! Beat Chelsea, Arsenal and City in the league too
And it turns out that Bruma wasn't out for that many months, he's back now which is hand as Lallana and Rodriguez are injured for a little while now too.
I've had Jefferson as reserve keeper for 3 seasons now, he's 34 but still class, performs just as well as De Gea whenever he's injured/rested.

If you keep them as first choice, GK's seem to stay at max forever, on my current save St. Iker is still on of the top 5 keepers in the game at 39.
For some reason every time I go to the Steam Workshop via the Downloads menu, I get an error, and it tells me I have no subscriptions. I have many though, that I wanted to install.
I did get a new challenge, where you start in Administration, with your normal team all sold, just to decide which relegation prospects, in which league, to pick...
I need a team from England from either the old division 3 or 4(sky bet 1/2 or whatever). Any suggestions? Was thinking Wolves, but not sure.

Really struggling to pick a team to start with, determined to try this 3-4-2-1 strikerless formation. Went for it with Atletico to find I couldn't remove Koke's release clause as he doesn't want to currently discuss a contract, Monaco are sniffing around and he'll definitely go so that's killed it in the dead in the water.

What have I got myself in to? I have minus money too, so will have to sell loads to even think about a scout, so don't know why I was bothered. In administration too. The receivers are also doing all my transfers out too.
Perhaps Juve, and sell your strikers for AM's?

My 7/8 for predicting CA/Pa scout came back with a 4.5* free agent, so tried to sign him, but the max I could offer was 100 pounds a week. He wanted 120, and the only way to get him to 100 a week was to give him bonuses and yearly wage rises. Didn't want to risk doing that, so looks like I'm stuck with the squad I have really.Edit: Also, most of my good players only have a year left but wont renew due to us having next to no money. How is it possible to do well with Coventry?

Sold Jonathan Silva for 40m. Only 8m upfront but it's not really needed immediately so no worries. Also sold my starting RB for 18m to be replaced by the guy I bought in January but arriving just now summer. And sold my first choice striker for 9m and bought his replacement for 13m. Only purchase of the summer as well as bringing in Oliver from Atletico on a free and a backup RB on loan to allow my backup RB from last season to go out on loan second half of the season (he's HG in October unfortunately but he'll enjoy the training facilities until I can loan him out).
Apart from that moved Carles Planas from the reserves to backup LB again. He's only 25 and still good enough. Also not renewing the loan of Tin Jedvaj and using a HG CB I had out on loan last season as 4th choice with Planas as 5th choice. And brought in a LW for 500k who has potential to become a 4.5* player so he'll be my second choice LW with Burgess as starter and Ntep being mainly used as RW backup.

I ended up getting Ter Stegen, because sod it, why not? Cost me about £ 16 mn on the transfer budget, but I dare not say how much including clauses...
Well, you're set for a keeper for a generation, so can't complain at that.
Also, for some reason, every save I've used Ter Stegen in, he saves about 1 in 3 penos, including shootouts, which is a quite fantastic return, and lead to me never loosing a shootout ever.

Had Ter Stegen on my save last year with Blackburn. He's brilliant.

Fake players, and the leagues are ones I'm not as completely familiar with, so I can't just pick the stars out. Portugal, France, Holland and Germany. The In Game Editor is disabled. Starting unemployed. Should be fun.
I forgot about making attributes, anyone know if I can change that with the save started?

If I win my next game, I'll go 9 points clear of second place with 12 games left. Not sure if I'm doing so well because of my tactics, or in spite of them.

Bottom of the table, and need to get a comfortable league spot, while cutting down their wage overflow. First two games won, and an 18k pw loan cancelled, along with dumping my transfer budget into wages, has me comfortable. Still bottom mind, but their first wins and 3 points off 17th. Got one 5* potential youth LW, hope he'll be my Januzaj.
Need to sell some chunder, and try and cut the wages of some backups.
Also, to my absolute delight, I found an "Instant Result" button for the main mode, which I somehow managed to install, despite the above mentioned problems. That'll be very handy later. It's not for the Dark Skin though, so I'll have to adjust the ugly stat colours to match the Dark Skin's ones. Unless I can find an alternate button.

Oh right! I didn't know you could do that, tbh I only got Steam to get FM, I'll give it a punt.
Oh I forgot, you can download a new search filter too, for player roles, so you can specifically find false nines, or inside forwards or whatever.
Been fecking about trying to fix that Workshop problem all morning, no good, driving me insane.

So verifying the cache via Steam didn't work. Weird. Usually fixes those things. Ask on the SI forums then.
