What's wrong with people. It is easily the game with the best writting.
Now I am serious. I love Kotor and was joking here (mainly with Alock) and it is my favorite game ever. However, there is no way that it should have been on the second position. It isn't even the best RPG of all time, and both Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII are superior than it on pretty much everything.
Haven't played Ocarina yet (in my to do list) but really it was a very obvious choice to win. It is rated as the best game of all time by basically every website, magazine or whoever makes these lists. By that alone, I think that it is a deserved winner.
I must say that I was disappointed with FF6 being that low and Chrono Trigger not making the list at all. I think that Mass Effect is better than Mass Effect 2 but it is a close thing and to people who aren't that interested on story then I can see why they like ME2 more than the first one.

I would highly recommend to play it. It's gameplay is shit and it has terribly aged but the writting is several levels above any other game. It is basically a novel.
An another interesting thing is that you can finish the game without even fighting most of the time. And usually by doing so you get more XP then by fighting. Wisdom, Charisma and Intelligence are way more important that Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence.
It is an insanely difficult game if you don't increase those 3 stats I mentioned which usually aren't that important on most RPG games.
Never played either #1 or #2 which is a real shame.
Damn. So close! Best of it's genre and deserved to be in the top 50.

Really, I played one of them KOTOR games, and while I remember it being great, I don't remember it being ridiculously special.
